TMAP Mobility announced on the 13th that its TMAP Auto will be featured in the Polestar 4, a coupe-style electric SUV.

The TMAP Auto integrated into the Polestar 4 is developed based on the Android Automotive operating system (OS). It supports a 5-part split view layout, tailored for the expanded 15.4-inch horizontal display, allowing users to simultaneously access various applications registered in the TMAP store, such as media, news, audiobooks, web browsing, and remote meetings even while following navigation. It can also sync with the driver’s display and head-up display (HUD), enabling drivers to check navigation routes, speeds, and driving information.

TMAP Mobility explained, “We will expand the ecosystem to provide users with the apps they frequently use on mobile through the TMAP store in Polestar 4, allowing for convenient access to various content while driving. Continuous updates throughout the second half of the year will introduce additional global content,”

Features specialized for electric vehicles have also been enhanced. The interoperability between the vehicle’s TMAP Auto and the mobile TMAP platform has been enhanced, enabling organic utilization of various services. Users can check and manage experiences such as charging station search history, visit and payment records from both mobile and vehicle, and they can also access payment and charging status information through In-Car Pay, along with remote control from their mobile devices.

Collaboration for charging infrastructure will also be strengthened. Credit for pre-charge that can be used economically at approximately 130,000 TMAP partner chargers will be provided, including those built by Polestar and the Parking Cloud (I-Parking EV). Furthermore, the EV Hot Key feature supports not only range prediction based on battery state of charge (SoC) but also provides information on remaining battery, charging station search, and real-time information checks.

Park Seo-ha, head of D&I (Data & Innovation) at TMAP Mobility, stated, “We will continue to expand collaborations with various content developers to enhance user driving convenience and entertainment through OTA (Over-the-Air) updates” and added, “We will develop electric vehicle-specialized features optimized for individual users based on data, providing continuous software updates.”
