‘Uber Japan will hold a helicopter boarding event from the 23rd to the 25th.’

‘Uber Japan is hosting the limited-time helicopter boarding event “Uber Flyer’s Club” from July 23rd to 25th (local time) in Tokyo, offering tourists the chance to experience the city from the sky during this summer vacation season.

Anyone can participate in this event, including Korean tourists visiting Tokyo, by simply downloading the Uber app. The event will take place through a lottery system at Sanagi Shinjuku in Tokyo. Winners will enjoy a helicopter ride provided by Uber, flying over famous attractions such as Tokyo Tower and the Skytree. Participants will be transported to the helicopter boarding area using “Uber Premium.” Additionally, various prizes, including special Uber taxi merchandise and promotional codes, will be available.

Uber Premium is a service that allows users to easily book premium vehicles such as the Alphard and Vellfire, offering a comfortable travel experience, similar to calling a taxi through the Uber app. This service operates in areas like Tokyo and Kyoto and can accommodate up to five passengers with ample space for luggage, making it a favorite among travelers.

Alongside the event, there will be a promotion for Uber taxi users in Tokyo, offering discounts of up to 30% on taxi fares. By entering the promotion code “TOKYORIDE24” in the Uber taxi app menu under ‘Account – Wallet – Add Promotion Code,’ users can receive a 30% discount (one time only, up to 1500 yen) when they request a taxi. This promotion is valid from July 22nd until the end of September.

Since 2022, the number of domestic and international tourists visiting Tokyo has significantly increased. According to the Travel Knowledge Information System, last year, Japan was the most visited destination by Korean travelers (42.9%), with over 6.96 million visitors. The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) stated that currently, 25% of tourists visiting Japan are Korean. Additionally, as of July this year, the number of foreign users of the Uber app in Japan has increased fivefold compared to 2022, with many being international tourists. The Uber Flyer’s Club event has been designed to offer a memorable high-quality summer experience for travelers in line with this trend.

Meanwhile, Korean travelers can enjoy convenient and seamless movement anywhere using the Uber app during domestic and international trips. Whether traveling from home to the airport or after arriving at the destination, users can call for a vehicle effortlessly using the Uber app. Used in over 70 countries, the Uber app supports 50 languages, allowing users to navigate the entire process from destination selection, vehicle booking, payment, to communication with drivers in their native language. Furthermore, Uber prioritizes safety by implementing various technological policies such as GPS tracking during rides, emergency customer support, and a mutual evaluation system between passengers and drivers to maintain service quality. This is part of Uber’s efforts to provide safe and comfortable travel experiences during overseas trips.

An Uber taxi representative stated, “The Uber Flyer’s Club is a limited-time event reflecting Uber’s vision of ‘Go Anywhere’ and hopes that through this event, Korean travelers can experience the convenience and comfort of Uber Premium and enjoy a unique helicopter journey, making their summer trip in Tokyo even more special.”
