Continental Korea has appointed Dong-yoon Kang, the Vice President for UX Business in Asia, as its new CEO effective September 1. With over 15 years of experience in mobility technology, Kang will oversee Continental Korea based on his extensive expertise developed throughout his career.
Dong-yoon Kang began his career in 2008 as a product development engineer at Continental Tire at the company’s headquarters in Germany. Recognized for his outstanding communication and sales capabilities with clients across various cultures, Kang was promoted in 2016 to Managing Director of Tire Mobility Kits and Global Sales of the Continental Tire OE division, where he worked in Japan. In 2018, he served as Senior Vice President overseeing OEM sales in Korea and Japan for the OE division from Michigan, USA, gaining a wide range of global market experience.
Later, he held the position of Senior Vice President in charge of global product planning and regulatory certification in the marketing division at Continental’s headquarters in Germany. In February of this year, he was appointed Vice President of the Continental Automotive UX division overseeing Asia, and starting September 1, he will also serve as CEO of Continental Korea to foster synergies with the global market.
New CEO Dong-yoon Kang stated, “Continental is a global technology company with over 150 years of history, leading the way in realizing future mobility. Based on the rich practical experience gained from various regional business units, I will actively utilize our global network to contribute to the mutual growth of Continental Korea and the Korean mobility industry.”
Dong-yoon Kang holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2007 and earned a Master’s degree in Policy Studies from KDI School of Public Policy and Management in 2010. Last year, he completed the Chief Product Officer program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
