On the 26th, Volvo Cars Korea announced the launch of the 2025 XC60, which enhances economy and product appeal through low-emission vehicle certification.
Having sold over 2 million units globally by last year, the XC60 has led the trend in mid-size SUVs and is a best-selling model representing Volvo Cars. Last year, it achieved the top sales position among all imported SUVs for the first time since its domestic launch, and as of July this year, it continues to rank first in sales among imported mid-size SUVs, maintaining its status as a best-selling SUV.
The new 2025 XC60 boasts slightly improved fuel efficiency through powertrain upgrades and has received low-emission vehicle certification. Owners of low-emission vehicles can enjoy benefits such as a 50% discount on public parking lots nationwide, a 50% discount on airport parking, and a full 100% exemption on congestion charges in Seoul.
Alongside this, the XC60 features Scandinavian design reflective of a human-centered philosophy, high interior and convenience specifications comparable to higher models, advanced safety technology that is synonymous with “safety,” and best-in-class infotainment services, all included across all trims.
The exterior of the XC60 features Volvo’s signature LED headlights, known as “Thor’s Hammer,” showcasing a confident styling. The interior reflects modern Scandinavian design while emphasizing functionality, with natural materials, modern craftsmanship finishes, and ergonomically designed seats, setting a new standard in emotional quality for its segment. Additionally, premium options experienced in higher models are provided, such as the high-end sound system from British brand Bowers & Wilkins, Napa leather seats, a crystal gear knob from Swedish Orrefors, and an advanced air purification system.
The XC60 is equipped with basic advanced safety technologies such as City Safety, which detects vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists on the road and supports emergency braking and collision avoidance in case of an accident risk. Pilot Assist, which helps maintain distance from the vehicle in front and assists with steering to keep the vehicle centered in its lane, is also standard, along with Run-off Road Mitigation and Oncoming Lane Mitigation.
Moreover, the XC60, which introduced the integrated T-map infotainment service for the first time among Volvo cars in 2021, now features the industry-leading “Integrated T-map Infotainment Service 2.0.” With a voice recognition rate of 96%, users can safely operate various vehicle functions while driving, and access a variety of applications through the ‘T-map Store,’ including web browsers, news apps, podcasts, audiobooks, and stock services. Additionally, users benefit from 15 years of free wireless updates (OTA), 5 years of free LTE service, and a 5-year digital service package, offering an evolving smart car experience over time.
The powertrains for the 2025 XC60 include a total of three options: mild hybrids (B5/B6) and a plug-in hybrid (T8). The B5 and B6, both powered by gasoline-based mild hybrid engines, offer maximum outputs of 250 horsepower and 300 horsepower, respectively, with combined fuel efficiencies of 10.1 km/ℓ and 9.9 km/ℓ, representing an improvement for the B6 over the 2024 model (combined 9.4 km/ℓ).
Prices are set at ▲B5 Plus Bright (64.4 million KRW) ▲B5 Ultra Bright (70 million KRW) ▲B6 Ultra Bright (74 million KRW) ▲T8 Ultra Bright (86.4 million KRW), with all trims except for the B5 Plus Bright with added options priced the same as the 2024 model.
According to Lee Yun-mo, CEO of Volvo Cars Korea, “The Volvo XC60 is recognized not only in the global market but also domestically as the no.1 best-selling SUV model among imported cars. The 2025 XC60 combines high price competitiveness and excellent product appeal, with the added advantages of low-emission vehicle benefits, making me confident it will continue to lead the imported car market.”
