‘Busan Mayor Park Hyung-jun, selected as the first customer of the Renault Koleos, is test driving with Stephan de Vleeschauwer, CEO of Renault Korea.’

Renault Korea held a regional cooperation promotion event at Busan City Hall on the 26th, where they delivered the first unit of the New Renault Koleos to Busan Mayor Park Hyung-jun and showcased the vehicle inside the premises.

This collaborative event between Renault Korea and Busan City was attended by over 50 officials, including Stephan de Vleeschauwer, CEO of Renault Korea, Mayor Park Hyung-jun, Yang Jae-sung, Chairman of the Busan Chamber of Commerce, Park In-ho, Co-Chair of the Busan Economy Revitalization Citizens Alliance, and Jo Jeong-hee, Permanent Representative of the Busan Women Consumers Alliance.

The event was planned to ensure that the Koleos, produced in Busan with the support of various local partners, achieves successful sales both domestically and internationally, contributing to local economic revitalization.

In particular, Mayor Park Hyung-jun purchased the first production model made at the Renault Korea Busan plant on September 16, showing his support for the success of the ‘Made in Busan’ Koleos. CEO Stephan de Vleeschauwer also personally drove the first unit to hand it over to the mayor, responding to the city’s support and encouragement.

Stephan de Vleeschauwer stated, “I sincerely thank Mayor Park Hyung-jun and the Busan city officials for their constant support in the transition and leap of Renault Korea toward future mobility,” emphasizing that Renault Korea will focus on expanding production and developing future vehicle technology beginning with the Koleos, contributing to the revitalization of the Busan economy and growing alongside local cooperative companies.

The Busan City Hall has set up an exhibition space for the Koleos in the first-floor lobby, which will operate until the 6th of next month. Renault Korea plans to visit the exhibition area and provide customers who apply for consultations and test drives with coffee coupons, and those who contract will receive a Renault original tote bag. There are also special benefits exclusively for Busan citizens; those who purchase a Koleos by the end of October will have the chance to win Daengbaekjeon gift vouchers worth 1 million won (1 person), 500,000 won (2 people), and 200,000 won (10 people). Additionally, during the Chuseok holiday period, there will be a test drive vehicle rental promotion for Busan citizens.

Meanwhile, Renault Korea’s new mid-sized SUV, the New Renault Koleos, will begin sales and customer deliveries for the E-Tech hybrid models in the Techno, Iconic, and Esprit Alpine trims starting September 6.

The Koleos features advanced driving assistance systems, including Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities, as standard across all trims. It also offers real-time TMAP navigation and the voice recognition system NUGU Auto as standard, enhancing driving convenience.

The vehicle’s body incorporates ultra-high-strength hot-pressed forming (HPF) components at an industry-leading rate of 18%, using high-quality materials like Giga Steel, which exceeds 980MPa, and ultra-high-strength steel plates (AHSS), ensuring exceptional safety performance.

The Koleos E-Tech Hybrid delivers a best-in-class system output of 245 horsepower while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency at 15.7km/l (based on the Techno trim) even with 19” tires. As a versatile mid-sized SUV, it also excels at high-speed fuel economy.
