Hyundai Motor Company has partnered with Hyundai Capital to launch the ‘Battery Care Lease’, a leasing financial product exclusively for the Casper Electric on the 27th (Tuesday).

The ‘Battery Care Lease’ is a unique financial product for the Casper Electric that combines a new purchasing method by reducing lease prices through the ‘Battery Care Program’ and pre-reflecting the remaining battery value.

The ‘Battery Care Program’ allows customers who lease the Casper Electric to check quantified driving and charging habits, battery status, and more in real-time through the official Hyundai Capital app.

Customers can continuously monitor battery status to alleviate concerns about electric vehicle batteries, and Hyundai Capital plans to provide a reward of 300,000 won after the lease ends if the battery status meets certain criteria, promoting safe and efficient electric vehicle operation.

Along with the Battery Care Program, Hyundai has lowered the initial lease price by pre-reflecting the remaining value of the used battery for the first time in Korea and applying a purchase method where used batteries are reused/recycled.

The discount on battery prices is calculated based on a 10-year average lifespan of the Casper Electric vehicle, with the remaining value being funded through a lead purchase method by Hyundai Motor, Hyundai Glovis, and battery manufacturers.

When customers purchase the Casper Electric through a new car lease for five years, they receive a pre-discount equal to the battery price at the point of vehicle scrapping after 10 years. It allows leasing the Casper Electric at a cost of less than 10,000 won per day, cheaper than the lease price of gasoline models, significantly reducing the burden of purchasing an electric vehicle.

After the new car lease ends, the vehicle will be sold as a used car lease for five years before being scrapped, and the company that made the lead purchase will collect the battery.

The collected batteries will be reused as ESS (Energy Storage Systems), charging stations for electric vehicles, or recycled into new batteries by extracting raw materials such as lithium and nickel, depending on their remaining lifespan and performance.

More detailed information regarding the Battery Care Lease product can be found by accessing the Casper dedicated homepage (https://casper.hyundai.com) and Hyundai Capital’s Casper Lease purchase page.

A Hyundai official stated, “This Casper Electric ‘Battery Care Lease’ is a financial product that combines the Battery Care Program with the residual value of the electric vehicle battery, aiming to alleviate customer concerns about batteries and reduce the initial price burden of electric vehicles, thus contributing to the popularization of electric vehicles.”

Meanwhile, Hyundai plans to offer benefits to customers who purchase the Battery Care Lease product by subscribing to popular home appliances including refrigerators, air conditioners, and stylers through a partnership with LG Electronics.
