JLR Korea has launched the new Range Rover Velar, which has become even more sophisticated and luxurious through partial modifications. JLR Korea presents two trims of the new Range Rover Velar: the P250 Dynamic SE, which has reduced its price compared to the previous model, and the P400 Dynamic HSE, now loaded with the latest features.

The Range Rover Velar was awarded the Car Design of the Year at the 2018 World Car Awards upon its initial release, recognized as one of the most beautiful vehicles. The Velar embodies a perfect blend of modernity, splendor, and elegance, showcasing both cutting-edge technology and superb design that have offered customers the ultimate value. The newly launched Range Rover Velar incorporates the brand’s latest design DNA, presenting a more refined and flawless design. The price of the P250 Dynamic SE trim has been reduced by 8.8 million KRW compared to the 2024 model, significantly improving accessibility for consumers.

The new Range Rover Velar P400 Dynamic HSE is equipped with innovative next-generation technologies. The newly introduced Pixel LED headlight system is praised as a unique lighting technology in the industry. Each headlight features four pixel modules and 67 precision-controlled LEDs that provide the most suitable lighting for forward situations and roads. The intelligent beam, with three times more LEDs than traditional matrix headlights, maximizes brightness and is centered around next-gen driving beam functions.

The adaptive driving beam can detect up to four objects in front, adjusting the lights based on their presence, while the Dynamic Bend Lighting feature allows the main beam pattern to function rapidly according to the vehicle’s steering angle and trajectory, enhancing visibility in typically hard-to-see areas. The adaptive driving beam illuminates a wider area at low speeds and provides a stronger beam at speeds exceeding 70 km/h.

The P400 Dynamic HSE comes standard with the air purification plus system to maintain an optimal indoor air quality for a more comfortable driving environment. When the ionizer feature is activated, it automatically detects and reduces allergy-causing factors like PM 2.5 particles and dust. Additionally, the ‘CO2 Management’ feature circulates air to lower CO2 concentrations, and the ‘ION’ function, utilizing nanotechnology, purifies viruses and removes odors from clothing.

The optional Meridian™ 3D surround sound system for the P400 Dynamic HSE offers an immersive audio experience with up to 17 speakers and a 750W amplifier. Active noise-canceling technology works in tandem with this system to ensure class-leading quietness, automatically canceling out external frequencies to reduce internal noise by at least 4dB, equating to the effect of decreasing the audio volume by four steps, thus delivering a higher level of modern luxury experience.

The Range Rover Velar adopts a ‘minimalist design’ philosophy, minimizing unnecessary elements, which was a first for the Range Rover. The new Range Rover Velar reflects the essence of both simplicity and elegant restraint. The newly redesigned dashboard and center console feature premium materials, showcasing ultimate luxury. The center console includes an 11.4-inch curved floating display powered by the latest Pivi Pro infotainment system, providing a wider screen compared to the previous 10-inch display while enhancing the overall interior appeal with a clean and upscale aesthetic. Moreover, by integrating the existing lower screen into a single Pivi Pro system, it offers extra storage space below and includes an active cooling system in the wireless charging pad to prevent overheating during charging.

The newly launched new Range Rover Velar features an updated front grille, LED headlights, rear lamps, and wheel styles, completing an impression of a more sophisticated and luxurious vehicle. The signature DRL LED headlight design, with a look reminiscent of precisely crafted crystal, connects with the new front grille, emphasizing horizontal lines for a wider, lower appearance. Coupled with Land Rover’s iconic floating roof, artistically sculpted taillights, and automatically deploying flush door handles, these refined exterior design elements create a dramatic presence on the road.

The Ingenium gasoline engine in the new Range Rover Velar employs mild hybrid technology to achieve both excellent performance and efficiency. The MHEV technology recovers lost energy during deceleration through the Belt-integrated Starter Generator (BiSG) and stores it in a 48V lithium-ion battery. BiSG not only assures that the stop-start system functions quickly and precisely but also enhances engine efficiency during acceleration.

The P400 Dynamic HSE trim features a 6-cylinder 3.0-liter Ingenium gasoline turbo engine. This engine, in combination with the 8-speed automatic transmission, delivers a powerful output of 400 horsepower and maximum torque of 56.1 kg·m across the 2,000 to 5,000 rpm range. The top speed reaches 250 km/h, and it takes just 5.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.

The P400 Dynamic HSE is also equipped with Adaptive Dynamics and electronic air suspension as standard. Adaptive Dynamics monitors wheel movement 500 times per second and body movement 100 times per second to enhance ride comfort and handling based on driving conditions. The electronic air suspension can raise the ground clearance by up to 251mm, further enhancing off-road capabilities. It includes a fording depth detection function and a self-leveling feature to maintain an optimal ground clearance when carrying heavy loads.

The P250 Dynamic SE trim features a 4-cylinder 2.0L Ingenium gasoline turbo engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, delivering an output of 250 horsepower and a maximum torque of 37.2 kg·m. Its top speed is 217 km/h, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 7.5 seconds.

The Pivi Pro infotainment system integrated into the 11.4-inch curved touchscreen boasts intuitive usability, allowing control of approximately 80% of the vehicle’s functions with just two touches. It also introduces a multifunction sliding control sidebar, significantly enhancing user-friendliness. Constantly displayed on both sides of the touchscreen, the sidebar allows for easier access to commonly used features, such as cabin temperature controls and audio volume. Before starting the drive, a pre-drive panel provides easy access to frequently used functions like de-fogging and heated seats. Once the vehicle begins moving, it automatically switches to a three-panel home screen.

The new Range Rover Velar can wirelessly update the entire vehicle ECU via the SOTA feature, covering the Pivi Pro infotainment system, navigation, onboard diagnostics, chassis, and powertrain systems.

The sales prices are set at 90.1 million KRW for the new Range Rover Velar P250 Dynamic SE and 124.2 million KRW for the P400 Dynamic HSE. Currently, purchases can be made via the Land Rover online store, and more information can be found on the Range Rover website.
