JLR strengthens its long-term engineering collaboration with the innovative UK premium audio brand Meridian to develop and supply high-performance in-vehicle audio technology for future electric vehicle architecture.
Since 2010, JLR has maintained a collaborative relationship with Meridian, based in Cambridge, UK, and through this partnership, has developed the audio systems for all vehicles under the Range Rover, Defender, Discovery, and Jaguar brands.
With this enhanced engineering collaboration, Meridian’s experts will be involved in the early design stages of JLR’s new vehicles, playing a more critical role in JLR’s modern luxury electrification plans moving forward.

Currently, the pinnacle of Meridian’s in-vehicle audio technology is the Meridian Signature Sound System equipped in the Range Rover. This system offers an immersive sound experience with a total of 35 speakers, including 20W speakers embedded in four main headrests, providing 1600W of sound.
Based on the exceptional refinement of the MLA-Flex architecture, this audio system creates a tranquil cabin environment, allowing for a first-class sound experience. The included third-generation active noise canceling system monitors wheel vibrations, tire noise, and engine sounds entering the cabin, sending out opposing waveforms through the speakers to ensure optimal cabin tranquility. This innovative system helps ensure that all passengers maintain comfortable conditions even during long-distance travels.
Another innovation born from the collaboration between JLR and Meridian is the Range Rover Tailgate Event Suite. This system, which adds four rear speakers positioned optimally, supports perfect sound when customers open the tailgate of the Range Rover for various outdoor activities.
