Volkswagen Korea has started pre-orders for the significantly enhanced flagship SUV ‘New Touareg’ from today (10th). The ‘New Touareg’ will officially launch next month.
Since its debut in 2002, the Touareg, created by harnessing Volkswagen’s technology and know-how, has been recognized as a model that continuously redefines the standard for premium SUVs with each generation.
The upcoming ‘New Touareg’ is a third-generation facelift model that boasts not only a stylish exterior design but also advanced safety and convenience features, enhancing its overall appeal.
A new design that emphasizes the charisma of the flagship SUV
The exterior of the New Touareg has undergone a complete transformation. The newly applied ‘Front LED Light Strip’ and radiator grille combine with an upgraded sporty black-tone front bumper design for a perfect harmony. In addition, for the first time in the brand’s history, it is equipped with ‘IQ. Light HD Matrix headlights’ that feature a unique ‘3 Eyes’ design, completing Touareg’s signature front look.
The side profile highlights a sense of volume with the new side skirt design (R-Line applied), while the rear showcases a new LED rear combination lamp that connects the tailgate with a horizontal LED line and six “L” shaped LEDs, enhancing the presence of the Touareg.
Advanced Intelligent Interactive Lighting System, IQ. Light HD Matrix Headlights
The New Touareg is equipped with Volkswagen’s cutting-edge technology, encompassing the enhanced intelligent lighting system ‘IQ. Light HD Matrix headlights,’ marking the brand’s first application. With over 38,000 interactive LEDs that optimize lighting based on driving speed, navigation, GPS, and camera information, it features an evolved technology that partially illuminates without disturbing the view of oncoming drivers.
An interior that adds comfort to digitized advanced technology
The New Touareg showcases an ‘InnoVision Cockpit’ composed of a 12-inch digital cockpit, a 15-inch MIB3 infotainment system, and a head-up display, exemplifying an intuitive digital interface.
Adding specifications to maximize the premium feel, it boasts even stronger appeal compared to the previous model
The ‘New Touareg’ comes standard on all trims with the Danish premium audio system ‘DYNAUDIO Consequence.’ Additionally, it features ‘Soft Door Closing’ and rear door curtains to further enhance passenger convenience across all trims.
‘IQ. Drive’ standard across all trims
The new Touareg includes Volkswagen’s state-of-the-art driver assistance system ‘IQ. Drive’ as standard in all trims. This includes the ‘Front Cross Traffic Assist’ which warns of hazards in blind spots while driving at intersections or performs emergency braking, along with functions such as ACC, Front Assist, Lane Assist, Side Assist, and ‘Travel Assist,’ facilitating comfortable and safe driving.
Powerful driving force with exceptional balance and driving stability
The New Touareg is powered by the EA897 evo3 V6 3.0 TDI engine, combining powerful driving force and efficiency. It features the innovative ‘Twin-Dosing Technology’ system with two SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) devices. With an all-wheel-drive system and an 8-speed automatic transmission, it delivers a maximum output of 286 horsepower and a peak torque of 61.2 kg.m. The ‘Air Suspension’ and ‘All-Wheel Steering’ systems provide optimal performance and stability on and off the road. The newly added ‘Roof Load Sensor’ enhances driving stability by combining with vehicle control systems and advanced drive units, resulting in even more dynamic performance.
The pricing for the New Touareg starts at 99.99 million KRW for the Prestige model and 106.99 million KRW for the R-Line (including VAT). Customers purchasing the New Touareg will receive a ‘5-year/150,000 km warranty’ and the ‘Accident Repair Total Care Service,’ which covers up to 5 occurrences of deductibles during insured repairs at official service centers. An additional benefit of 3 million KRW is offered when trading in existing vehicles, and 1.5 million KRW for repurchasing a Volkswagen.
Volkswagen Korea is providing special financing benefits to celebrate the official launch of the New Touareg domestically. Through Volkswagen Financial Services, customers can choose either a guaranteed residual value promotion or a 60-month installment promotion upon purchasing the New Touareg Prestige model.
With the guaranteed residual value promotion, customers can purchase the Touareg after a 30% down payment (29,388,090 KRW) with monthly payments around 840,000 KRW, while selecting the 60-month installment option allows for monthly payments around 1,300,000 KRW after the same down payment. Additionally, Volkswagen Financial Services offers ‘Body & Parts Protection,’ covering repair costs for one-time damage to the external body or front glass, side mirrors, tires, etc., within one year or 20,000 km.
