KG Mobility announced on the 15th that it has finalized the name of its newly developed SUV, known by the project name J120, as ‘ACTYON’ and has begun pre-orders.
KGM will kick off its promotion of the new ACTYON with the release of its exterior images and the start of pre-orders in early August.
The ACTYON, unveiled ahead of its launch, is a sophisticated and dynamic coupe-style urban SUV that combines stylish design with the practicality of an SUV, expected to invigorate the sluggish domestic market.
The name ‘ACTYON’ carries forward the pioneering spirit of the first-generation ACTYON, which attracted attention as the world’s first SUC (Sports Utility Coupe) concept introduced by KGM in 2005. According to company officials, it symbolizes a commitment to not only maintaining the brand’s legacy but also embarking on new challenges and a future-oriented vision, continuing the authentic legacy of KGM, a specialist in SUVs with a 70-year history.
The naming of the first-generation ACTYON symbolizes youth, created from a blend of ‘Action’ and ‘Young’, expressing dynamic images of passion, individuality, and challenge that surpass conventional SUVs. The newly introduced ACTYON integrates the original meaning with ‘Act+Young’ and ‘Act+On’, signifying a commitment to ‘acting young and initiating activities’, embodying KGM’s aspiration for a new beginning.
The exterior is built on a robust SUV design, showcasing a beautiful and stylish coupe silhouette combined with urban and sporty design elements, reflecting KGM’s design philosophy ‘Powered by Toughness’ through various developments.
The front and rear designs present a clean yet impactful impression. The side features extend the cargo area, emphasizing dynamic lines while maximizing storage space, providing interior space equivalent to that of a mid-sized SUV for diverse lifestyle experiences.
The ACTYON will begin pre-orders today (the 15th). Customers can pre-order through more than 270 KGM dealerships nationwide or on the exclusive ACTYON website (www.kgm-actyon.co.kr), with formal pre-contracts scheduled for August. Pre-order customers (up to 50,000) will receive a coupon for one cup of Hollis Americano.
