BYD is attracting talent from the automotive industry with exceptional conditions. As BYD Korea prepares to commence sales in South Korea this second half of the year, industry insiders are making the switch, with three marketing team members from an American automotive brand recently moving to BYD Korea. It is quite rare for team members from the same company to transition to different workplaces simultaneously.

The American automotive company is noted for its generous salary and benefits, making the simultaneous move of three team members particularly noteworthy. There are rumors in the industry that “BYD offered these individuals 2 to 3 times their current salary.” While there are speculations that their departures could be due to internal conflicts, the industry believes it was hard to refuse such high salary offers.

Recruiting employees with such striking salaries signifies BYD’s strong commitment to the South Korean market, leading to increased unease in the industry. This is especially significant since all three individuals who switched jobs are marketers.

BYD is in the process of establishing a domestic sales network with aspirations to have over 70 dealerships nationwide and sell more than 20,000 vehicles annually. Major import car dealerships are in detailed discussions with BYD regarding showrooms, focusing on launching the brand within the year.
