Hyundai Motor Company is expanding its ‘Pickup and Charge’ service nationwide, which offers vehicle pickup for charging and automatic car wash services to customers who own Hyundai electric vehicles.

Since piloting the ‘Pickup and Charge’ service in the Seoul area in 2021, Hyundai has begun operating the service in six major metropolitan cities (Busan, Daegu, Ulsan, Gwangju, Incheon, and Daejeon) starting from May this year.

Hyundai plans to gradually roll out the service in each metropolitan area over a period of three months, assessing demand before fully expanding the service.

The ‘Pickup and Charge’ service operates five time slots at two-hour intervals from 9 AM to 5 PM daily. Customers wishing to use the service can select their preferred date, time, vehicle location, and contact-free options using the ‘myHyundai’ app and pay a pickup/delivery fee of 20,000 KRW. (No additional charges based on distance)

The assigned driver will pick up the vehicle from the location specified by the customer, charge it up to 80%, and if the customer pays an additional 5,000 KRW, an automatic car wash service is also provided. (Charging costs are settled separately, at 347 KRW per 1kWh)

Customers can check the charging status, driving range, and whether the vehicle is connected to the charger through the ‘myHyundai’ app and also track information about the assigned driver, vehicle location, and service progress in real-time.

To celebrate the expansion of the ‘Pickup and Charge’ service, Hyundai is hosting an event during the pilot period that provides free pickup/delivery and car wash services to up to five customers daily.

Additionally, customers who leave feedback about the service will receive a discount coupon worth 20,000 KRW for use on car life services such as car washes, designated driving, and charging through the ‘myHyundai’ app.

A Hyundai representative stated, “We launched the innovative ‘Pickup and Charge’ service in 2021 to address the inconveniences faced by electric vehicle customers in charging their vehicles. With the expansion to six metropolitan cities, we will continue to strive for a more convenient electric vehicle lifestyle for our customers.”
