BMW Korea conducts driving training for emergency responders from the Incheon fire department at the BMW Driving Center in Yeongjong Island.

This training program is designed to enhance the driving skills of emergency responders, allowing them to safely control vehicles in critical situations and accurately respond to hazards, thus improving their capabilities and safety during emergency medical transport.

The driving education focuses on teaching correct driving posture, steering and control techniques using BMW vehicles, as well as conducting emergency braking drills that utilize the vehicle’s maximum braking ability, and training to manage understeer and oversteer—fundamental yet essential driving skills. Additionally, practical driving tests are conducted using ambulances deployed in real emergency situations, considering the unique nature of their work.

Following the first training held on April 15th, a total of 18 emergency responders have participated so far, with plans for 24 responders to complete the training by May through four sessions.

Meanwhile, BMW Group Korea has been contributing to public safety through various initiatives since 2016, including holding ‘Automobile Safety Rescue Seminars’ for firefighters and donating seven X5 vehicles for lifesaving functions, making them the first imported vehicles donated to the Fire Disaster Headquarters. In 2022, they delivered 1,150 vehicle-mounted refrigeration units for storing medical supplies and drinking water for firefighters during emergency responses.
