Hankook Tire will exclusively supply racing tires for the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series, a prestigious racing competition organized by the Italian supercar brand Automobili Lamborghini. The Asia series will launch with a grand event in Malaysia on May 3rd.

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo Series features extreme speed competitions using the ‘Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo2’ vehicle. It is held across four continents, namely Asia, Europe, North America, and Australia, comprising three series, each with six rounds. Every participating vehicle will be fitted with Hankook’s high-performance racing tires, called ‘Ventus.’ This product is designed to provide optimal grip and consistent performance under all racing conditions, including dry and wet surfaces.

The opening race of the Asia series will take place at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, which features a 927m straight and a mix of high-speed and low-speed corners, making consistent tire performance crucial. With the hot and humid tropical climate, the surface temperature may reach nearly 60 degrees, necessitating top-notch tire performance in durability, grip, and braking capabilities.

Hankook Tire aims to demonstrate its world-class racing tire technology, developed through participation in several racing competitions, by supporting the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series. Additionally, this event serves as an opportunity to showcase high-performance racing tire technology alongside Lamborghini, a high-end supercar brand, enhancing the global presence and reputation of the premium brand ‘Hankook.’

The Lamborghini Super Trofeo 2024 Asia Series will take place in five countries, including Malaysia, Australia, South Korea, Japan, and China. Notably, Hankook Tire plans to validate its top-tier racing tire technology at the Korean event in Inje, Gangwon-do, scheduled for July, while also promoting the growth of motorsports domestically. The Asia series champion will compete for the ultimate title at the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Grand Final in Spain this November.

Meanwhile, Hankook Tire has been investing in research and development, resource allocation, and real-world testing to break into the supercar sector for a long time. A practical testing phase is essential for forming partnerships with supercar brands, involving the fitting of tires on performance-grade vehicles and data collection during actual tests.
