‘Mercedes-AMG S63 E Performance’

Mercedes-Benz Korea has announced the domestic launch of the ‘New Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance’, which boasts the most powerful driving performance in the history of the S-Class.

The S 63 E Performance, the first plug-in hybrid among AMG models launched in the country, combines Mercedes-Benz’s full-sized flagship model, the S-Class, with AMG’s powerful performance and plug-in hybrid technology. When the engine and electric motor operate together, they produce a maximum output of 802 horsepower and a peak torque of 124.3 kg.m.

Compared to the previous generation S 63 (V222), which was equipped only with a gasoline engine, the S 63 E Performance delivers 190 more horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster than its predecessor.

This outstanding driving performance is made possible by the combination of the 190-horsepower permanent magnet synchronous motor (PSM) from the Formula 1TM technology-based plug-in hybrid system ‘E Performance’ and the 612-horsepower AMG 4.0-liter V8 bi-turbo engine.

Additionally, it is equipped with the AMG Performance 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel drive system, ensuring a driving experience that harmonizes power, efficiency, and comfort. The new AMG high-performance battery with a capacity of 13.1 kWh provides an electric driving range of up to 25 km based on domestic certification standards.

Furthermore, it offers a range of driving assistance features that support its intense performance, including an air suspension system with adaptive damping, the AMG Ride Control Plus suspension with a total of seven driving modes, including pure electric mode, and rear axle steering capable of approximately 3 degrees of rear wheel steering angle.

The vehicle’s design also highlights its sporty charm. For the first time in an S-Class, it features an AMG-exclusive radiator grille at the front, and various AMG design elements are incorporated throughout the interior and exterior, blending the classic elegance of the S-Class with a strikingly aggressive impression.

In addition, advanced driving assistance systems in the Driving Assistance Package, as well as digital lights, a remote parking package, and differentiated interior experiences such as the MBUX high-end rear-seat entertainment system, MBUX interior assistant, and Burmester® 3D surround sound system are also included.

Killian Tellen, Vice President of the Product, Marketing, and Digital Business Division at Mercedes-Benz Korea, stated, “The S 63 E Performance represents a unique presence combining the powerful performance of Mercedes-AMG with a high-performance hybrid system integrated with Formula 1TM technology,” and added, “It will set another technological milestone in the electrification of the luxury sedan segment.”

The new Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance is set to start delivery to domestic customers within this month, with a price of 299 million KRW (including VAT).
