‘Mercedes-AMG G63 Grand Edition’

Mercedes-Benz Korea is launching the limited edition model of the high-performance G-Class, the ‘Mercedes-AMG G 63 Grand Edition’.

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class has established itself as the ‘legendary off-roader’ since its first release in 1979, thanks to its robust boxy design and powerful driving performance, perfectly catering to both on-road and off-road environments for over 40 years. Particularly, with the release of the high-performance model, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 in 2002, its status as a successful off-roader was further solidified.

This ‘G 63 Grand Edition’ model adds rarity to the existing G 63 by incorporating new MANUFAKTUR interior and exterior colors and materials that emphasize a contrast between black and gold. Only 1,000 units will be produced globally, with just 44 units available for sale in South Korea.

Kilian Tellern, Vice President of Product, Marketing, and Digital Business at Mercedes-Benz Korea, stated, “The G 63 Grand Edition captures attention with its unique charm that combines the classic appeal of the G-Class, the dynamism of AMG, and the exclusivity of MANUFAKTUR,” adding that, “This G 63 Grand Edition will further solidify the unique status of the G-Class as an off-roader.”

The exterior features a matte black MANUFAKTUR color applied across the vehicle, with a gold AMG Grand Edition film added to the bottom of the side doors, creating a striking visual contrast. Additionally, for the first time, gold accents are applied to the AMG logo and the Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star logo, including the 22-inch AMG forged wheels, the Apaltermach emblem on the hood, and the gold trim around the rear spare wheel.

The sporty feel is further emphasized with the application of the AMG Night Package, which complements the black exterior details. A specific AMG radiator grille has been installed, and black finishes have been applied to the headlights, turn signals, side mirrors, and under guard to enhance its dynamic character.

Inside, the contrasting black and gold colors are eye-catching. The black G MANUFAKTUR Napa leather seats harmonize with the exterior colors, providing a touch of exclusivity. Gold stitching and ‘Grand Edition’ badge trim molding throughout contribute to an intense and luxurious atmosphere.

Moreover, the AMG performance steering wheel crafted with Dynamika microfibre and AMG carbon trimmings applied throughout the interior accentuate the unique dynamism and luxury synonymous with AMG.

Deliveries of the Mercedes-AMG G 63 Grand Edition will commence this month, with a price including VAT of 297 million KRW. Product consultations and purchases can be made at 64 authorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships nationwide.

Meanwhile, the base model of this G 63 Grand Edition, the ‘Mercedes-AMG G 63’, is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 gasoline engine (M177) combined with the AMG Speedshift TCT 9-speed transmission, delivering a maximum output of 585 horsepower and a peak torque of 86.6 kg.m. Additionally, it is equipped with features such as a ladder frame, three 100% differential locks, and low-range off-road gearing, ensuring impeccable driving power and safety even on rugged terrains.
