‘Mercedes-Benz Arocs 2135L 4X2’

Daimler Trucks Korea unveils the Mercedes-Benz premium mid-sized cargo truck, the Arocs 2135L 4×2 model, optimized for specialized applications and transportation efficiency in the domestic market.

The newly launched Arocs Cargo 2135L features a powerful output with an upgraded design tailored for the South Korean transportation environment, showcasing Mercedes-Benz’s innovative technology to maximize Total Transport Efficiency (TTE) for the customer. The truck boasts a 55-horsepower increase and a wheelbase extended by approximately 300mm to 6,900mm, significantly enhancing the vehicle’s cargo capacity while upgrading the premium cargo lineup and responding actively to domestic customer needs and market changes.

Antonio Landajo, CEO of Daimler Trucks Korea, stated, “The Mercedes-Benz Arocs Cargo 2135L reflects the characteristics of the cargo transportation market, where ‘cargo capacity equals profit,’ thus enhancing both output and cargo volume compared to previous models. We expect that our superior product quality, along with the world-class service provided by Mercedes-Benz trucks, will contribute to maximizing customer profits and offering tangible business benefits. ‘

The newly launched Mercedes-Benz Arocs Cargo 2135L has a wheelbase of 6,900mm, which is 300mm longer than the previous 6,600mm model, allowing for a more stable axle load distribution. Additionally, the extended wheelbase supports a cargo compartment length of 10,200mm (based on inner length). This setup allows for the loading of 18 pallets (9 in 2 rows) of size 1,100×1,100mm, which is expected to facilitate efficient operations and profit enhancement for customers transporting goods.

The Arocs 2135L delivers impressive performance with an output of 354 horsepower, which is the best in its class, along with a maximum torque of 142.9 kgf·m—55 horsepower higher than previous models. Furthermore, the rear air suspension effectively absorbs road shocks, improving ride comfort and ensuring stable cargo transport. The holes structure of the high-strength frame allows for easy customization and demonstrates exceptional durability for heavy loads.

The Mercedes PowerShift 3 (MPS 3) transmission equipped in the Arocs Cargo 2135L is optimized to perform effectively in the domestic cargo transportation environment, offering durability and fuel efficiency. Notably, it features four customizable driving programs (△Eco Roll Mode, △Locking Mode, △Economy Mode, △Power Mode), enabling the best efficiency in any operational environment. The high-performance engine brake enhances total braking power to about 408 horsepower, providing sufficient braking capability even when fully loaded.

Meanwhile, the Arocs Cargo 2135L offers a frame preferred by domestic specialized vehicle manufacturers, as well as a variety of customized solutions to meet customer needs. The holes structure of the frame allows for easy installation of special equipment without the need for separate drilling, simplifying the assembly process. Additionally, during customization, upgraded packages with additional wiring boxes and battery shutoff switches cater to the preferences of local customers seeking tailored solutions.

The Arocs Cargo 2135L is equipped with cutting-edge safety and efficiency technologies recognized at the industry level, including the second-generation MirrorCam, Active Brake Assist 5 (ABA 5), and Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS). Notably, the second-generation MirrorCam reduces air resistance by using compact digital side mirrors, which can result in a fuel consumption reduction of up to 1.5% (according to European standards) under mixed road conditions.

The multimedia cockpit applied in the Arocs provides drivers with a new level of operability and convenience. Two full-digital displays offer optimal resolution and visibility, creating a smart driving space that facilitates communication between the vehicle and the driver. Additionally, the large digital display instrument panel replacing the traditional analog dashboard allows for easy access to various driving-related information during travel.

Mercedes-Benz’s premium convenience features, which help alleviate driver fatigue during long hours of operation, are standard equipped. Notable features include the electronically controlled parking brake, which allows for easy vehicle control, and the hold function, which reduces driver fatigue on inclines as well as flat surfaces. Other thoughtful components include the electronic parking brake, button-start smart key, touch screen infotainment, and comfort bed with a built-in refrigerator designed for convenient rest during long drives.

Customers purchasing the Mercedes-Benz Arocs 2135L can enroll in the Mercedes-Benz Service Contract program, which offers the industry’s largest range of benefits. This service contract provides vehicle maintenance and servicing at official Mercedes-Benz truck service centers nationwide based on the program designed by Mercedes-Benz, featuring various product configurations and extensive warranty coverage and benefits.

The 3-year service contract allows for terms of 3 years/250,000km (dump specification, applicable to leading), categorized into ▲Maintenance type ▲Integrated type ▲Integrated Gold type, allowing new vehicle buyers to select and enroll based on their vehicle operating conditions or plans. The maintenance type offers the foundational items essential for vehicle management, while the integrated type adds benefits such as extended warranties for engine and powertrain components, as well as emergency roadside assistance and towing services. Finally, the integrated gold type includes all areas of vehicle maintenance and servicing, being the highest tier that encompasses consumable maintenance.

The maintenance and integrated types of the Mercedes-Benz Service Contract are also available for a 5-year agreement. By choosing a 5-year plan, the warranty period can be extended to 5 years/500,000km or 5 years/750,000km, depending on the vehicle model. This not only provides economic advantages but also ensures systematic vehicle management based on the use of OEM parts optimized for Mercedes-Benz trucks, securing the best vehicle performance, safety, and high residual value.
