‘Cadillac Lyriq’

Cadillac has officially unveiled the domestic launch of its first pure electric SUV, the Lyriq, and pre-orders begin today (23rd).

Additionally, Cadillac has renewed its integrated brand space, ‘The House of GM’, located in Gangnam, Seoul, into ‘Atelier Lyriq’, where it will publicly showcase the vehicle to interested customers on the 31st, along with a nationwide exhibition tour at showrooms.

The Lyriq utilizes General Motors’ dedicated electric vehicle platform, ‘ULTIMUM’, and is the first model to do so. This model boasts an exceptional technological foundation, combining the unique proportions of EVs with a new design language for Cadillac and next-generation technology, making it a standout player in the global market.

‘Cadillac Lyriq Front’

Yoon Myung-ok, Vice President and Head of Communications at GM Korea, stated, “Cadillac has concentrated all of its brand capabilities on the Lyriq to once again embody our original slogan from 122 years ago, ‘The Standard of the World,’ completing another iconic model. The Lyriq was recognized for its value, having ranked first among luxury brands in North America’s EV market for single model sales in Q1 this year. I hope that domestic customers will have the opportunity to experience this new dimension of luxury EV that the Lyriq presents.”

Lyriq has established a new design language for Cadillac that will be reflected in its future electrification portfolio, harmoniously incorporating elements of heritage and next-generation technology based on a design inspired by ‘the rhythm of nature’.

Replacing the traditionally used chrome grille, the Lyriq’s ‘Black Crystal Shield’ showcases a unique grille pattern and lighting signature, expressing Cadillac’s future design identity while actively reflecting its technological aesthetics.

‘Cadillac Lyriq Side’

The ‘Choreography Lighting’, a light spectacle that unfolds automatically when the occupant approaches or unlocks the Lyriq, is considered the pinnacle of the Lyriq’s design performance.

Beginning with the Cadillac logo and Black Crystal Shield at the front, the Choreography Lighting follows the vertical headlamps composed of 9 individual LEDs, culminating in a ‘Digital Rain’ effect where light flows downwards, followed by lighting up the door handles and rear lamps, creating an illusion as if light dances around the vehicle’s body.

The Lyriq’s wide and long body emphasizes a modern and sophisticated aura through Cadillac’s unique straight character line while incorporating details such as the ‘Flow-Through Roof Spoiler’ and flush door handles, maximizing aerodynamic performance.

The rear, reinterpreting details from Cadillac heritage models, comprises uniquely designed rear lamps that connect the rear windshield to the C-pillar along with the straight rear lamps, creating a distinctive visual for the Lyriq.

The exterior colors for the Lyriq offer five options: ▲Agent Silver Metallic ▲Stella Black Metallic ▲Crystal White Tricoat ▲Opulent Blue Metallic ▲Radiant Red Tricoat.

‘Lyriq Interior’

The interior of the Lyriq emphasizes a harmony of technology and artistic design, aiming to meet the expectations of a luxury EV experience.

At its core, the Lyriq features a 33-inch curved advanced LED display that integrates the cluster and infotainment systems. This display is complemented by luxurious materials such as aluminum, wood, and napa leather, culminating in a sleek yet luxurious interior.

The ambient light, which operates organically according to the occupant’s choices and driving mode, offers a spectrum of 26 colors, creating a showcase using the unique patterns of the laser-processed door panels for an illuminated interior experience.

Other features include the newly designed front center armrest, a center console made from crystal, and seats with special quilting patterns, all of which elevate the Lyriq to a higher level of luxury EV.

As the first model built on GM’s next-generation modular electric vehicle platform, ‘ULTIMUM’, the Lyriq offers excellent performance and efficiency, as well as spacious interior space and a new driving experience, setting a true standard for ‘luxury EVs’.

‘Lyriq Rear’

The Lyriq is equipped with a 102kWh high-capacity battery pack arranged in 12 modules, composed of nickel, cobalt, manganese, and aluminum (NCMA) cathodes. Notably, the industry’s first wireless battery management system allows for independent control of each battery module and organic integration, maximizing safety and efficiency through an innovative thermal circulation system and BEV3 heat system.

Thanks to its ULTIMUM platform, the Lyriq offers standard all-wheel drive while achieving a driving range of up to 465km on a full charge. It also supports DC fast charging with a maximum output of 190kW per hour, allowing for approximately 120km of range within just 10 minutes of charging.

The Lyriq achieves a near 50:50 front-rear weight distribution through a low center of gravity facilitated by the battery placement and two motors mounted at the front and rear of the chassis. The maximum output of 500 horsepower and 62.2 kg·m of torque produced by the dual motors is transmitted through 20-inch aluminum wheels, delivering enhanced stability and agility in driving performance.

The industry’s first application of ‘Variable Regen on Demand’ allows for precise deceleration and stopping through pressure-sensitive paddle switches mounted behind the steering wheel. Furthermore, the upgraded ‘One-Pedal Driving’ feature enables active control of acceleration and deceleration using only the accelerator pedal, achieving over 30% improvement in regenerative braking efficiency compared to previous generations.

Additionally, the Lyriq offers four selectable drive modes—▲Tour ▲Sport ▲Snow ▲My Mode—depending on the driving environment and features next-generation active noise cancellation that produces sound waves to offset interior noise, monitored through a three-axis acceleration sensor and microphones inside the vehicle, while also enhancing natural EV sounds triggered by the force applied to the accelerator pedal for an even more luxurious driving experience.

‘Lyriq in Motion’

A variety of technologies that assist occupants in perfectly controlling and enjoying the vehicle are also crucial elements of the ‘luxury EV experience’ that the Lyriq aims to provide.

Through the 9K ultra-high-definition resolution of the 33-inch curved advanced LED display, key driving components such as the motor and battery can be monitored, while controlling various options integrated into the Lyriq.

The 33-inch curved advanced LED display is divided into three main areas. The left steering area allows control of trip and headlamp functions, while the inner cluster area provides essential information such as speed, power output, battery level, and regenerative braking status. The main cluster screen can shift between two themes depending on the drive mode, with a separate theme available for enhancing the visibility of battery-related information.

The infotainment display area on the right side of the steering wheel enables easy control of vehicle setting functions, convenience options including drive modes, a 360-degree camera, wireless Apple CarPlay® and wireless Android Auto™, as well as the sound system.

The Lyriq comes standard with GM’s global connectivity service, OnStar, allowing for remote vehicle control via a mobile app, providing information about driving range, tire pressure, charging modes and states, along with diagnostics—extending the range of control users have over their vehicles.

The interior is optimized with an AKG™ Studio audio system featuring 19 speakers, offering a rich auditory experience that delivers enhanced satisfaction to luxury EV users.

Moreover, integrated radar, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors help ensure safe vehicle control in driving environments, supporting various safety and convenience features, including front and rear blind-spot warnings, automatic emergency braking, parking assistance, and lane-keeping assistance.

The Lyriq will be launched in South Korea as a single ‘Sport’ trim with a selling price of 100,690,000 KRW (based on 5% individual consumption tax).

Cadillac began pre-orders for the Lyriq nationwide from the 23rd and will provide a promotional benefit of a 3,000,000 KRW triple discount on the contract deposit and a limited-edition ‘LYRIQ X Hydro Flask’ tumbler in collaboration with the high-end tumbler brand ‘Hydro Flask’ to customers who complete their pre-orders. (*This promotion may end early due to limited quantities.)

Through an estimate consultation event, customers who visit the showroom to complete their consultation will receive specially designed ‘Lyriq Eco Bags and Pouches, and Inspiration Note Sets’, and a lottery will be held to give additional one-month test drive vouchers for the Lyriq to six participating customers.

Cadillac plans to commence customer deliveries of the Lyriq in July. More detailed information about the product and pre-orders can be found at Cadillac showrooms nationwide and on the official Cadillac website (www.cadillac.co.kr) and official SNS channels.
