The V12 2-door coupe, Ferrari’s 12 Cylindri, has arrived in South Korea. On the 30th, I visited the Inspire Hotel in Incheon, Yeongjong-do, to see the Ferrari 12 Cylindri.
The 12 Cylindri occupies a central role between the Purosangue and 296 GTB in Ferrari’s lineup, which includes models like the Roma, Purosangue, 296 GTB, and SF90 Stradale. It was unveiled for the first time globally on the 3rd of this month in California, and only four weeks later, it was launched for the first time in Asia, in South Korea.
The front end features headlights integrated into a black band, and separate daytime running lights emerge like blades, giving a robust impression. The hood has integrated front wings, designed with smooth lines except for two vents for cooling the engine compartment.
With dimensions of 4,733 x 2,176 x 1,292 mm, it differs from typical muscular sports cars. Emmanuel Reckardo, Head of Global Product Marketing at Ferrari, emphasized that “the design of the 12 Cylindri draws inspiration from the spaceships of science fiction films, envisioned in a forward-looking manner.”
The interior has also been revamped with a futuristic design compared to previous models. It features a 15.6-inch driver’s instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, and an 8.8-inch passenger display, providing a feeling of direct driving experience for passengers in the 12 Cylindri.
With a peak output of 830 horsepower and a maximum torque of 69.1 kg.m, the 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine combined with an 8-speed F1 dual-clutch transmission delivers powerful performance. The 12 Cylindri can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 7.9 seconds, boasting a top speed of 340 km/h.
Its performance isn’t just limited to speed. It also exhibits impressive stopping power. From a speed of 100 km/h, the stopping distance is 31.4m, and from 200 km/h, it records a stopping distance of 122m.
The starting price for the 12 Cylindri in the European market is €395,000 (approximately 58.77 million won). The global delivery schedule is set for the fourth quarter of this year, while the delivery time and sales price in South Korea are yet to be determined.
