On the 1st, Mercedes-Benz Korea announced that it is accepting applications until the 30th for the 17th cohort of its excellent maintenance training program for electric vehicles, ‘Mercedes-Benz AET (Automotive Electric Traineeship).’

Since 2006, Mercedes-Benz Korea has been operating a specialized training program, ‘AMT (Automotive Mechatronic Traineeship),’ for students graduating from automotive departments of technical colleges nationwide. In response to the expansion of the electrification market, the program was revamped in 2022 to include electric vehicle maintenance training under the new ‘AET’ format.

Students who pass the selection process, which includes document screening, interviews, and written tests, will complete a total of 20 training courses through the AET program, covering topics such as work safety management for electric vehicles, drivetrain system maintenance, high-voltage battery control system maintenance, high-voltage battery cooling system maintenance, and charging device maintenance, along with conventional vehicle maintenance training. This training will take place from September and will last approximately one year.

Participants who complete 14 weeks of theoretical training at the Mercedes-Benz Korea Training Academy and 40 weeks of on-site practical training will receive various certifications, including the Mercedes-Benz Certified High Voltage Specialist (HV Level 3), and will also have job opportunities with official Mercedes-Benz dealers and service centers.

Through the AET program, Mercedes-Benz Korea plans to cultivate next-generation talents in electric vehicles, such as electric high-voltage system specialists (EHV) and battery assessment and repair experts (BR), enhancing service satisfaction levels for customers of pure electric vehicles.

Meanwhile, since the start of its specialized mechanic training program in 2006, through vocational education programs like AMT and AET, Mercedes-Benz Korea has trained a total of 261 specialized maintenance personnel as of last year.
