‘Kia Sorento’

The Carnival and Sorento have led Kia’s performance in the first quarter. Kia managed to create a gap of over 10,000 units from Hyundai, securing the top spot among domestic car manufacturers with ease. Total domestic car sales for the first quarter stood at 322,211 units, representing a 12% decline compared to the same period last year when sales were 366,413 units. While Genesis and GM experienced growth, other brands saw their sales decrease.

Kia topped the sales charts with 137,622 units, slightly down 2.9% from 141,740 units in the previous year. The Sorento made a strong showing as the people’s car for the first quarter, selling a total of 26,929 units, a remarkable 65% increase from the 16,246 units sold in the same period last year. The Carnival followed with 22,681 units sold, reflecting a 14.5% increase compared to the previous year’s figures of 19,816 units. The Sportage also saw sales rise to 19,661 units, a 14.3% increase over last year’s 17,199 units.

‘Hyundai Santa Fe’

Hyundai sold 126,197 units, marking a 21.2% decrease compared to 160,261 units sold during the same period last year. The Santa Fe stood out with sales of 23,313 units, up 196% from last year’s 7,877 units. The Porter reported 19,314 units sold, down 31% from last year’s 27,972 units. The Grandeur saw a significant decrease as well, with sales of 13,698 units, 54% less than the previous year’s 29,684 units.

Genesis recorded 33,770 units sold, which is a 9.7% increase compared to last year’s 30,786 units. The GV80 saw sales rise to 13,552 units, a 113% increase over the previous year’s 6,340 units. The G80 reported 12,048 units sold, down 7.4% from the previous year’s 13,017. The GV70 saw a decline with 5,280 units, compared to 6,594 units last year.

‘KG Torres’

KG Mobility recorded sales of 12,212 units, a significant 46.5% drop from last year’s 22,819 units. The Torres saw a decline with only 4,368 units sold, which is down 74% from the previous year’s 16,852 units. The Rexton Sports recorded 3,371 units, slightly down 3.3% from last year’s 3,485 units. On a positive note, the Tivoli sold 1,763 units, 30% higher than last year’s 1,348 units.

General Motors sold 6,919 units, reflecting an 80% increase from last year’s 3,837 units. The Trax became GM’s flagship model with 5,178 units sold, while the Trailblazer saw a decrease with 1,244 units, down 13% from last year’s 1,430 units. The Traverse recorded 314 units sold, a 15% increase from last year’s 273 units.

Renault’s sales were at 5,491 units, which is a 21.2% decrease compared to 6,970 units last year. The XM3 managed to sell 2,937 units, slightly down 0.8% from last year’s 2,960 units. The QM6 recorded 2,240 units, down 30.5% from last year’s 3,224 units. Lastly, the SM6 saw a significant drop to 314 units, down 56% from last year’s 724 units.
