The legendary Lotus model ‘Exige S1’ made a surprise appearance in Gangnam, Seoul.

LotusCars Korea unveiled the legendary sports car ‘EXIGE S1’ at their exhibition center in Gangnam on April 4. The EXIGE S1 was launched to the market in 2000 and was produced for only two years before disappearing from sight.

Measuring 3,785 x 1,719 x 1,182 mm, this two-door coupe has a compact wheelbase of 2,300 mm, making it quite cramped. For a journalist weighing nearly 100 kg and standing at 175 cm, getting inside seems like a challenge.

The EXIGE S1 features an aluminum chassis, a unique rear subframe, and aluminum double-wishbone suspension. This petite sports car, crafted from aluminum, weighs in at just 780 kg. Born to race, the EXIGE S1 is a lightweight model designed for high performance.

The EXIGE S1 is a mid-engine sports car powered by a 1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, producing a maximum output of 179 horsepower and a peak torque of 17.4 kg.m, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 219 km/h, delivering an exhilarating driving experience.

The EXIGE S1 will be on display until the end of this month, after which a new model will be showcased next month.
