‘Volkswagen ID.4’

The Volkswagen ID.4, an all-electric SUV from Volkswagen Korea, exhibited its presence in the electric vehicle market this March with a remarkable sales figure of 351 units (based on the Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association), following the confirmation of government subsidies.

Considering that the standards for the 2024 electric vehicle subsidies were finalized at the end of February, the fact that the Volkswagen ID.4 recorded the highest sales volume among European-brand electric vehicles in the domestic market is noteworthy.

Shin Dong-hyup, Director of Marketing Communications at Volkswagen Korea, stated, “The sales figures we achieved in March, when electric vehicle sales began in earnest, demonstrate the exceptional value of the Volkswagen ID.4. With its excellent performance, seamless driving feel, and attractive pricing, it is establishing a solid presence in the imported electric vehicle market.”

The ID.4 was developed from the planning stage as a representative model of Volkswagen in the era of electrification, following in the footsteps of the Beetle and the Golf, incorporating Volkswagen’s e-technology.

Offering long driving ranges and high energy efficiency—key considerations for electric vehicle purchases—the ID.4 boasts excellent economic benefits in terms of operation and charging costs. It provides a combined range of 421 km (451 km in urban areas, 384 km on highways) on a single charge, with impressive energy consumption of 4.9 km/kWh (5.3 km/kWh in urban areas, 4.5 km/kWh on highways, rated 3 stars).

Moreover, a subsidy of up to 4.92 million won, the highest among imported passenger electric vehicles, allows for a purchase price in the mid-40 million won range, combining exceptional value with attractive pricing.

Additionally, the ID.4 has garnered high praise from domestic customers due to its seamless driving experience while maximizing the unique advantages of electric vehicles. A wealth of advanced safety and convenience features also plays a crucial role in winning over Korean consumers.

Equipped with Volkswagen’s state-of-the-art driving assistance system ‘IQ. Drive,’ which includes ‘Emergency Assist’ to warn drivers and stop the vehicle if there is no response, the ID.4 ensures safety. The intelligent interactive lighting system ‘IQ. Light-LED Matrix Headlamps’ secures optimal visibility on dark roads.

Furthermore, features highly favored by Korean consumers, such as a panoramic glass roof, independent three-zone climate control, heat pump, and Air View (360° camera), are generously included, enhancing the vehicle’s popularity.
