Key executives from LG Uplus, including President Huang Hyun-sik, Executive Director Hwang Kyu-byeol (CDO), and Senior Executive Kim Ji-hoon (CSO), attended the event to share their visions for AI with the invited talents.
Huang stated, “LG Uplus aspires to be a digital innovation platform company that leads changes in customer life. To achieve this, AI technology that turns customer experiences into reality and, above all, the people who can bring these technologies to fruition are essential.” He added, “Let us create a future where AI permeates our customers’ daily lives, combining our dreams with LG Uplus’s vision.”
The talents present expressed their excitement, saying, “Since LG Uplus is a telecommunications company, it seems to have abundant data to leverage for AI technology,” and “I have heard that LG Uplus has a well-established agile organizational culture, so I believe we can rapidly experiment with various new AI technologies like a startup.”
Meanwhile, President Huang will continue his journey to enhance AI capabilities over a five-day period, starting with this meeting. He plans to meet with global startups and big tech companies that possess leading technology capabilities in AI fields such as multimodal emotion analysis AI solutions and real-time TTV (Text to Video), focusing on understanding global AI technology trends and discovering various business opportunities for the future.
During the shareholders’ meeting held on the 21st of last month, Huang emphasized, “It is crucial who can secure AI application technologies first to commercialize and innovate.” Subsequently, he has concentrated efforts on securing technological capabilities capable of quickly creating differentiated customer value through keywords like ‘application technology,’ ‘imagination,’ and ‘speed.’
An LG Uplus official stated, “LG Uplus is focused on creating new customer value faster than anyone else by utilizing AI, driven by the keywords ‘talent,’ ‘imagination,’ and ‘collaboration.’ We anticipate fruitful outcomes from this Silicon Valley trip beginning with meetings with AI talents and continuing with meetings with global AI tech companies,” he explained.
