General Motors, in collaboration with the Good Neighbors Incheon Regional Headquarters, is actively expanding GM’s safety-first values within the community through a traffic safety campaign titled “Let’s Cross Safely” aimed at elementary students in Incheon.

Launched last month, this traffic safety campaign is designed specifically for young students, featuring a fun and easy-to-understand educational program that enhances their understanding of safety and equips them with the skills to respond to real-life danger situations.

On the 29th, GM conducted the “Let’s Cross Safely” campaign at the crosswalk in front of Dongsoo Elementary School. Attendees included GM’s Communication Executive and Chief Marketing Officer Yoon Myung-ok, Good Neighbors’ Incheon Regional Headquarters Head Lee Pil-seung, along with teachers and students from Dongsoo Elementary School, participating in activities such as shouting campaign slogans, placing traffic safety stickers, and demonstrating how to safely cross the street.

Yoon Myung-ok, GM’s Communication Executive and CMO, stated, “This traffic safety education program is part of GM’s initiative to expand our safety-first values and our vision of zero traffic accidents. Moving forward, GM will continue to provide technological developments and education programs for the safety of both drivers and pedestrians, working towards creating safer communities.”

Lee Pil-seung, head of Good Neighbors Incheon Regional Headquarters, expressed, “We are delighted to collaborate with GM, which is making active efforts to create a safer world. We hope that this campaign will lead local children to reassess the importance of safety and grow up in a safer and healthier environment.”

The traffic safety campaign includes programs that raise awareness about traffic rules, the meaning of traffic lights and signs, safe crossing methods, safe use of transportation such as school buses, and ways to prevent car accidents and seatbelt rules. The program has been well received, featuring experiential learning activities such as plays, crafts, and board games. To date, the safety education program has been provided to 1,000 elementary school students in lower grades at Dongsoo Elementary School, Cheongna Elementary School, and Seogok Elementary School in the Incheon area.

Meanwhile, GM is making various efforts to achieve its triple zero vision (zero traffic accidents, zero carbon emissions, zero traffic congestion). This safety education campaign is aligned with the vision of zero traffic accidents, aiming to expand safety awareness among children in the community.

Additionally, GM has designated April as “Distracted Driving Prevention Month” and engages in activities that improve safety awareness for drivers and pedestrians. In September, GM hosts “Global Safety Week” with various safety campaigns available to employees and the community.
