On March 19, Mercedes-Benz Korea announced their support for production and the representation of nine flagship vehicles, including the high-performance electric sedan ‘Mercedes-AMG EQS’ and the top-tier luxury flagship sedan ‘Mercedes-Maybach S-Class’ through the tvN weekend drama ‘Queen of Tears’.
First aired on the 9th, the tvN weekend drama ‘Queen of Tears’ portrays the tumultuous love story of Hong Hae-in, the queen of department stores and a third-generation chaebol, and Baek Hyun-woo, the supermarket prince, as they navigate a precarious marriage and rediscover their love. Thanks to a solid script and stellar performances, the drama quickly climbed to rank 7 on Netflix Global TOP 10 Series (non-English category), gaining international popularity.
The vehicle and production support in ‘Queen of Tears’ is designed to highlight the main characters dimensionally and showcase the attractions of Mercedes-Benz’s flagship models to customers.
Through this drama, Mercedes-Benz Korea presents a total of nine representative vehicles, including two models from Maybach and the S-Class, three types of high-performance electric vehicles, and four key electric vehicles.
Initially, Baek Hyun-woo, a lawyer from a prestigious law school, is seen driving the two vehicles: the ‘Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+’, the first electric car from the high-performance brand, and the luxury roadster ‘Mercedes-AMG SL 63 4MATIC+’, adding vibrancy to his character that is envied by all.
The luxury flagship sedan ‘Mercedes-Maybach S 680 4MATIC’ is portrayed as the vehicle of the department store president, Hong Hae-in, emphasizing her character as a poised and sophisticated third-generation chaebol.
Additionally, the seventh-generation completely redesigned ‘Mercedes-Benz S-Class’ appears as the vehicle of M&A expert Yoon Eun-sung in the drama.
‘Queen of Tears’ airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 PM on tvN and is available for international viewers on OTT platforms like Tving and Netflix.
Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz Korea has previously provided production support for SBS dramas such as ‘The Lawyer of One Thousand Won’ and JTBC dramas like ‘Reborn Rich’, showcasing various vehicles such as the ‘Mercedes-Benz EQS’, ‘Mercedes-Maybach S-Class’, and ‘Mercedes-Benz S-Class’ to audiences.
