Stellantis Korea held an industry-academic cooperation agreement ceremony on the 19th at the Seongyong University Paju campus, located in Paju City, and donated a Peugeot ‘e-2008 SUV’ for electric vehicle education.
The ceremony was attended by Stellantis Korea CEO Bang Sil, Vice President Kim Soon-gon of Seongyong University, university officials, and faculty members from the Department of Future Automotive. During the event, Stellantis Korea and the Department of Future Automotive at Seongyong University promised to collaborate in fostering technical personnel specialized in electrification.
To this end, Stellantis Korea donated the Peugeot e-2008 SUV to be used in the education and research of Seongyong University students. The Peugeot e-2008 SUV is optimized for urban driving and is one of the first electric vehicle models released by Peugeot in Korea. It adapts the electrified version of the next-generation common modular platform known as ‘e-CMP’ to provide the same spaciousness and advanced functions as internal combustion engine models.
This vehicle will not only serve as a research vehicle for Seongyong University’s Future Automotive students but will also be used as a teaching aid during electric mobility education in the National Occupational Competency Standards (NSC) video lectures. Additionally, it will be actively utilized for training industry professionals in the northern Gyeonggi Province, including Paju City.
Moreover, Stellantis Korea will support approximately four weeks of field training and mentoring for students, allowing them to gain closer insights into the electrification field and experience practical-oriented education. They also plan to provide hiring opportunities within Stellantis Korea and its dealership companies.
CEO Bang Sil of Stellantis Korea stated, “I hope that the Peugeot e-2008 SUV, which is a collection of next-generation advanced technologies, can greatly assist the education and research of students in the Department of Future Automotive at Seongyong University. In the future, we will continue to seek various opportunities to practically support the local community and contribute to nurturing specialized personnel in future automotive fields.”
