JLR Korea announced that Jaguar TCS Racing team driver Mitch Evans secured second place in the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E Championship São Paulo E-Prix. This achievement marks a fantastic milestone for Jaguar TCS Racing, achieving podium finishes in every race since the season opener.

On the 16th of this month (local time) at the Anhembi Sambadrome in São Paulo, Brazil, Mitch Evans displayed an impressive race driving the Jaguar I-TYPE 6, clinching his first podium of the season. Showing his own pace for 34 laps, Evans chased down Sam Bird from Neom McLaren with six laps remaining and ascended to second place. During the final lap, as he took the lead and executed a strategic race, Mitch Evans engaged in a fierce battle with Sam Bird for the last two corners before finishing in second.

With a quarter of the 2024 World Championship season complete, the Jaguar TCS Racing team is cruising with four consecutive podium finishes. Currently, the team leads the rankings with 96 points, a notable 35 points ahead of the TAG Heuer Porsche team. Additionally, Jaguar TCS Racing driver Nick Cassidy maintains the top spot in the driver’s rankings, while Mitch Evans, who secured his first podium of the season, climbed to third.

With our top position in the World Championship team rankings and Nick Cassidy and Mitch Evans in first and third in driver rankings respectively, we are very much looking forward to the next race in Tokyo E-Prix.”

Driver Mitch Evans commented, “It’s disappointing to have lost the lead in the last corner, but I’m happy to have made it onto the podium and secured crucial points for the team. I hope this momentum continues in Tokyo as well,” he said.

Meanwhile, the 5th round of the 2024 ABB Formula E World Championship will be held on the 30th in Tokyo, Japan.
