This is not just a simple black. It is the Genesis G90 Black Edition, which takes inspiration from the colors of the ‘Geumgangjeongdo’ by Jeong Seon. We encountered the Genesis G90 Black Edition on the 21st at ‘Genesis Suji’ in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
Measuring 5,275 × 1,930 × 1,490 mm, it boasts a dynamic and stylish design. The G90 Black Edition presents the image of a tall figure that fits perfectly in a semi-formal outfit, steering away from the idea of a stout middle-aged gentleman. The paint in Vick Black highlights the unique charm of the ‘G90 Black Edition’. The grille at the front is complemented by high-gloss black detailing, elevating its luxurious feel compared to the matte model.
The Genesis emblem on the hood and the Genesis lettering on the rear also don black attire, revealing a wonderfully bold black accent. True to its high-class sedan status, it features ghost door closing technology. There is no need to pull the door handle to open it; you can now close the door conveniently with a single button press.
The interior’s wood grain and Bang & Olufsen speakers evoke the atmosphere of Jeong Seon’s ink painting, like a drop of ink on traditional Hanji paper.
Equipped with first-class VIP four-seat configuration, the second row features 16-way adjustable ergo-relaxing seats with a massage function and a dedicated monitor for rear seat passengers. The powertrain of the G90 Black Edition features a 3.5-liter gasoline turbocharged engine paired with a 48V electric supercharger, producing a maximum output of 415 horsepower and a peak torque of 56.0 kg·m, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission to deliver the performance befitting a high-class luxury sedan.
Genesis has actively reflected customer feedback, categorizing the VIP independent seats, panoramic sunroof, and built-in cameras as optional features rather than standard specifications, enhancing customer choice.
