‘BMW Equipped with TMAP AUTO’

TMAP Mobility announced on the 14th that TMAP Auto will be equipped in BMW vehicles. This marks the first time that TMAP in-vehicle navigation is integrated into BMW’s infotainment system.

TMAP Auto is an evolution of mobile TMAP’s differentiated services tailored for automotive environments. TMAP Mobility and the BMW Group began their collaboration in 2019 to provide real-time traffic information and have been working to develop specialized navigation features for BMW vehicles.

The TMAP Auto equipped in BMW vehicles will offer essential navigation features such as route guidance, map information, real-time traffic data, along with enhanced functionalities specific to the BMW Group to provide convenient in-car navigation.

Driver convenience will see significant improvement through the use of HUD (Head-Up Display) and AR (Augmented Reality) navigation. For electric cars, it provides optimal routes that consider battery charging levels and activates battery preconditioning features when a charging station is set as the destination, supporting model-specific functionalities.

Integration with the My BMW app is also available. Users can search for destinations in the My BMW app and send them to the vehicle, allowing TMAP to guide them to the destination or view the last visited locations on the My BMW app. It’s also possible to see favorite destinations added in the My BMW app within TMAP.

The TMAP Auto for BMW will first be implemented in the BMW X1 and 2 Series Active Tourer starting in February. This service is expected to gradually expand to the X2 model, scheduled for release in the second quarter, and to the upcoming new MINI lineup.

TMAP Mobility aims to enhance driver convenience by adding various verified features from the mobile TMAP navigation into TMAP Auto.

Park Seohwa, who is in charge of data and innovation at TMAP Mobility, stated, “In line with BMW’s SDV strategy and future vision, we will continue to work closely with BMW to provide an even more advanced, customized TMAP AUTO service that meets global standards in the domestic market.”
