‘Mercedes-Benz Korea Public Relations Director Lee Eun-jung, awarded by the Mayor of Seoul’

Mercedes-Benz’s Corporate Social Responsibility Committee announced on the 5th that it has received the Seoul Mayor’s Award in recognition of its contributions to carbon neutrality practices, climate change response, and urban landscape improvement through the ‘Mercedes-Benz GreenPlus Urban Forest Project’.

The Corporate Social Responsibility Committee of Mercedes-Benz signed a business agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Children & Future Foundation in 2022 for the ‘GreenPlus Urban Forest Project,’ actively engaging in activities to restore or improve neglected green spaces in four areas of Seoul by planting over 9,300 trees.

Notably, last November, the committee also participated in the creation of the Seoul Plaza Forest by donating seven special pine trees. Their multifaceted efforts have been highly praised for their contributions to improving urban air quality and reducing the heat island effect, as well as increasing access to green spaces for more citizens.

Lee Eun-jung, the chairperson of the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, stated, “Since the launch of ‘Mercedes-Benz GreenPlus’ in 2021, we have engaged in various CSR activities aimed at achieving carbon neutrality,” and added, “We will continue to work on climate action projects that are closely connected with citizens and pay attention to local communities.”

Meanwhile, the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee has been operating the carbon neutrality climate action program ‘Mercedes-Benz GreenPlus’ since 2021, implementing various environmental projects such as children’s environmental education, employee plogging activities, and public awareness campaigns regarding carbon neutrality.
