Lotte Fine Chemical’s advertisement for its urea solution brand Urox, titled ‘For my car, for myself,’ has been recognized as a finalist at the Seoul Visual Advertising Festival 2023.

The Seoul Visual Advertising Festival, which has been held since 2003, is the largest video advertising festival in Korea, celebrating its 21st edition. The winners are selected based on the evaluations of 82 judges from the advertising industry, along with 570,000 votes from netizens and professionals, and 20,000 comments.

The Urox advertisement, a finalist at this year’s festival, features narration by actor Jung Hee-tae, who received acclaim for his role as Lee Hang-jae, the secretary to Chairman Jin Yang-cheol in the drama ‘The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate.’ The ad delivers a powerful message: ‘The truck is your only companion and a burden, my life, my everything.’ Critics have praised the deep resonance of this message, complemented by background music from renowned Korean blues singer Kang Heo-dalim. A representative from Lotte Fine Chemical stated, “We were moved to see many comments from truck drivers and their families. It reminded us of the importance and value of ensuring the supply and production of high-quality urea solution for these individuals’ daily lives.” They further added, “We will do our utmost to reassure our customers from our position.”

In addition, after reading a comment from a truck driver’s daughter, Urox planned a surprise video campaign to renew the interior of the truck. They announced a comment event running until January 31, which includes a truck interior renewal and bedding set giveaway. The urea solution is a catalyst used in the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system of diesel vehicles, helping to eliminate nitrogen oxides (NOx), one of the substances responsible for fine dust in exhaust gases, thus playing a significant role in improving the air quality.
