‘Ioniq 5 N Performance Concept NPX 1’

Hyundai Motor Company unveiled the Ioniq 5 N Performance Concept ‘NPX1’, equipped with ‘N Performance Parts’, for the first time at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon on Friday, January 12.

This newly presented Ioniq 5 N Performance Concept ‘NPX1’ has enhanced dynamic driving performance through lightweight hybrid carbon wheels, high-performance brake pads, and down springs. The interior features Alcantara materials and racing bucket seats for a more luxurious feel.

It is characterized by the application of aerodynamic parts optimized for high-performance driving, including a real carbon front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, and a rear wing spoiler.

The parts applied to this concept model are prototypes that will showcase the vision for N Performance Parts, while also solidifying product development plans to launch Ioniq 5 N Performance parts in 2024. Furthermore, this initiative aims to expand the N Performance Parts range for all N brand models in the global market.

Through its exclusive parts brand ‘N Performance’, Hyundai continues to develop dedicated parts not only for the Avante N, i30N, i20N vehicles but also for Ioniq 5 N.

‘N Performance Parts’ were first launched in 2019, and from 2023, a dedicated organization has been established to conduct specialized product research and development. Across various N models, items have been designed to enhance driving enjoyment, such as external parts like real carbon spoilers and diffusers, interior parts with Alcantara steering wheels and parking levers, a brake system with monoblock four-piston calipers and hybrid large-diameter discs, and lightweight forged wheels.

Park Jun-woo, director of Hyundai Motor’s N brand management, stated, “Through this concept model ‘NPX1′, Hyundai aims to present various performance parts that maximize the fun and emotions of the brand’s electric high-performance vehicles, while continuously developing tuning parts for existing N brand vehicles to create an environment where customers can fully enjoy their vehicles’ potential.”
