Porsche once again set a new maximum sales record with 320,221 vehicles delivered in 2023, showing a 3 percent increase compared to the previous year.

Detlev von Platen, member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG, stated, “Despite the uncertain global economic situation, Porsche achieved solid performance and strengthened its position as a unique sports car brand. This year, as in the past, we will maintain a strong presence in key global markets and continue to deliver stable results.”.

Looking at the sales by region, the European market stood out with a 12 percent increase, delivering 70,229 vehicles. In Germany, sales increased by 10 percent, with 32,430 vehicles sold.

In North America, 86,059 vehicles were delivered, marking a 9 percent increase and the highest sales volume of 2023. Meanwhile, China experienced a challenging economic environment, resulting in a 15 percent decrease, with 79,283 vehicles sold. Other emerging markets showed growth, with 52,220 vehicles delivered, representing a 16 percent increase.

By product, the brand’s iconic sports car, the Porsche 911, saw a 24 percent increase, selling 50,146 units, achieving the highest growth rate. The fully electric sports car, Taycan, also proved its steady demand with 40,629 units delivered, representing a 17 percent increase compared to the previous year.

The new Cayenne, launched in April last year, saw a decrease of 8 percent to 87,553 units sold due to differences in launch timing across markets and a software update for hybrid models for top quality, yet it still led demand as a best-selling model, with Macan following closely behind.

The Panamera recorded sales of 34,020 units, and the newly unveiled third-generation Panamera will be delivered to customers starting in 2024. The 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman also saw a 13 percent increase, with sales hitting 20,518 units.
