Audi delivered about 1.9 million vehicles to customers in 2023, with over 178,000 electric vehicles, marking a 51% increase from 2022. This achievement stems from the soaring demand for electric vehicles and Audi’s electrification strategy, setting a strong foundation for the challenging changes anticipated in the upcoming year. Meanwhile, Audi plans to unveil the world’s first Audi Q6 e-tron in the first quarter of 2024.

Audi CEO Gernot Dollner stated, “Audi is a premium brand aiming for an electrified future,” and added, “The high demand for Audi vehicles in global markets will serve as a strong launch pad as we begin what is expected to be a challenging 2024 due to the uncertain global economy and intensified competition.” He further explained that 2024 is a crucial year for addressing various challenges and following a clear plan focused on vehicle profitability, stating that Audi aims to strengthen its diverse new vehicle portfolio by 2025, showcasing not only electric vehicles but also an entirely new generation of internal combustion and plug-in hybrid models to further bolster its brand positioning. Throughout 2023, Audi recorded increased sales in all global markets compared to the previous year, showcasing significant growth, particularly for pure electric vehicle models, reaffirming Audi’s consistent electrification strategy.

In 2023, Audi delivered over 178,000 pure electric vehicles, representing a 51% increase year on year, with demand for the Audi Q4 e-tron rising by 112% compared to the previous year. Audi plans to continue its electrification strategy into 2024, with the debut of the dedicated ‘Premium Platform Electric (PPE)’ for the Audi Q6 e-tron by the end of the first quarter, followed by various model launches.

According to Hildegard Wortmann, a board member and head of sales & marketing at Audi AG, Audi recorded a 17% increase in sales in 2023 compared to the previous year. Wortmann explained that, “Especially in core markets such as Europe, the USA, and China, we achieved strong results while simultaneously accelerating electrification.” Audi Sport delivered approximately 48,000 high-performance vehicles globally, reflecting a 5% increase from the previous year.

Audi delivered 748,000 vehicles in Europe, a 20% increase from the previous year. The Audi Q4 e-tron recorded a 68% increase in sales, with pure electric vehicle sales growing by over 30%. In Germany, Audi strengthened its market position by delivering more than 252,000 vehicles, a 17% increase from the previous year, of which 32,000 were pure electric vehicle sales, representing a 13% increase year on year.

In the US market, Audi delivered 227,000 vehicles last year, marking the best performance Audi has ever recorded in the US market, driven by a 55% growth in pure electric vehicle sales, totaling 25,000 units. In China and Hong Kong, over 729,000 vehicles were sold, a 13% increase from the previous year.

In other regional markets, Audi recorded approximately 190,000 sales, a 19% increase from the previous year, with Argentina (+109%), India (+90%), Mexico (+32%), and Australia (+29%) showcasing strong growth.
