Tada announced on the 29th that it has appointed Kang Hee-soo, former head of the platform business unit at Yogiyo, as its new CEO. Kang’s duties will commence today, and his term is set for two years.
Kang is a specialized expert in IT and platform business, having worked for companies such as Amazon, Coupang, and Beam Mobility Korea. He served as the head of the platform business for the delivery application ‘Yogiyo’ for two years, from January 2022 until this month.
His extensive experience in organizational operations and business development across various fields is expected to greatly contribute to Tada’s operational efficiency and business expansion.
Kang stated, “Tada has been showcasing a differentiated travel experience for both drivers and customers, revolutionizing the domestic mobility market. I will do my utmost, alongside the existing Tada team, to discover and enhance various growth drivers to ensure that Tada’s innovations continue.”
Meanwhile, Tada officially launched its premium taxi-hailing service ‘Tada Next’ based on large vans like the Staria and Carnival in April 2022. It offers a comfortable and safe travel experience for both drivers and users, maintaining a high level of service satisfaction.
Service indicators are also improving through service advancement and operational efficiency. From October to December 2023, Tada’s new member count grew by 457%, with taxi requests and transaction volumes increasing by approximately 70% and 29%, respectively. As of the end of last year, Tada had a cumulative registered user count of 3 million.
Additionally, since December of last year, Tada has been able to be utilized in TOSS’s taxi ride service, which has 26 million users, signaling further acceleration in service growth.
Tada aims to enhance profitability this year by expanding service supply and demand. To achieve this, it issued a convertible bond worth 10 billion KRW at the end of last year, which TOSS has fully acquired this month.
