JLR Korea has launched the premium family SUV, the new Discovery Sport. The updated model of the new Discovery Sport offers a more appealing exterior, an upgraded interior, enhanced convenience, and high connectivity with the driver.

The newly refined interior design embodies a modern luxury feel, featuring an elegant curved glass touchscreen integrated with the T-map navigation in the next-generation infotainment system, Pivi Pro. With a highly versatile cargo area and storage, the new Discovery Sport perfectly encapsulates the core DNA of the Discovery family—versatility, making it the optimal multifunctional family SUV for families who enjoy an active lifestyle.

The practical and spacious interior of the new Discovery Sport ensures comfortable seating for all passengers regardless of the driving environment. Thanks to the 40:20:40 split-folding seats in the second row, the space can be efficiently configured depending on the need, with sliding and reclining functionalities to further enhance convenience.

The second row of the new Discovery Sport not only offers convenience but also provides ample space for passengers, featuring a maximum legroom of 968mm and headroom of 984mm, accommodating everyone from children to adults comfortably. Folding down the rear seats opens up to a maximum cargo space of 1,794 liters, and with the power tailgate feature, loading and unloading is made easy. Additionally, the uniquely designed stadium seating raises the second row higher than the first, enhancing visibility and spatial comfort for all passengers.

The new Discovery Sport’s simple center console beautifully showcases the elegant floating 11.4-inch curved glass touchscreen. By eliminating the physical buttons for climate control and drive mode selector that were previously located below the infotainment screen, all functions are now integrated into the touchscreen, allowing for a more spacious storage area.

The new 11.4-inch curved glass touchscreen offers approximately 62% more screen area compared to the previous 10-inch screen, featuring the next-generation Pivi Pro infotainment system that provides technological sophistication and seamless connectivity, controlling all functions within the vehicle.

Features that were previously controlled via lower buttons, such as the heated windscreen, internal temperature control, heated seats, drive mode, and audio volume controls, can now be intuitively operated through the new multifunction sidebar controller, which is always displayed on either side of the screen. Additionally, a ‘one-touch shortcut panel’ has been added for easily accessing frequently used functions, allowing 90% of vehicle functions to be executed using only two taps on the home screen.

Beautifully enhancing the sophisticated interior of the new Discovery Sport are the toggle-style gear shifter surrounded by dark anodized aluminum trim finishers and an elegant three-spoke multifunction steering wheel. Furthermore, the new Discovery Sport offers comprehensive camera technologies. The 3D surround camera and the clear sight rearview mirror provide unobstructed views for the driver, helping them drive confidently.

The changes in the new Discovery Sport are not limited to the interior. It has also undergone modifications to its exterior that highlight the distinctive DNA of the Discovery family. The new Discovery Sport P250 Dynamic SE trim features premium LED headlights with signature daytime running lights.

The lower part of the vehicle is finished in gloss black, creating a duotone effect that contrasts with the upper part, while the air intake has been enhanced with a finisher that showcases a sportier and more confident impression. The gloss black details on the bumpers and wheel arches emphasize its assertive stance, and the three-bar signature on the front air intake signifies its unique identity as part of the Discovery family.

The Ingenium gasoline engine equipped in the new Discovery Sport P250 S and P250 Dynamic SE generates a maximum output of 249 horsepower and a peak torque of 37.2 kg·m, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds.

The unique versatile driving capabilities of the new Discovery Sport shine in both urban driving and challenging off-road conditions. The automatic Terrain Response 2 system can automatically detect road conditions and set the optimal driving mode, utilizing sophisticated intelligent systems to analyze driving conditions and choose the optimal terrain program automatically. Additionally, the All-Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) automatically controls the powertrain and braking system according to surface conditions to ensure safe traction on low-friction terrain. An intelligent AWD system is also featured to minimize power loss during stable on-road driving by distributing torque only to the front wheels.

The new Discovery Sport boasts a wading capability of up to 600mm and a maximum towing capacity of 2,500 kg, allowing for confident driving in any situation. Furthermore, the new Discovery Sport once again received the highest rating of 5 stars in the Euro NCAP crash test, affirming its safety that matches its powerful off-road capabilities.

Robin Colgan, the representative of JLR Korea, stated, “The new Discovery Sport is a distinctive and modern multifunctional family SUV, equipped with a practical interior and intuitive technology, making it the perfect vehicle for active families,” adding, “The newly launched updated model of the Discovery Sport will showcase the true essence of a premium family SUV with its unmatched all-terrain driving performance, multifunctional and spacious interior, Pivi Pro infotainment system, and the newly designed center console.”

The domestic price of the new Discovery Sport P250 S starts at 72,900,000 won, while the P250 Dynamic SE is priced at 76,600,000 won, and all models come with a 5-year service plan package.
