The endless territorial expansion of mobility platforms continues. It’s a battle for territory in the realm of Mobility as a Service (MaaS).

T-money unveiled its significantly upgraded ‘T-money GO’ app on the 22nd. T-money GO is an app that enables users to access subway route maps, receive real-time bus arrival notifications, hail taxis, and utilize Seoul’s bike-sharing service. With this update, T-money GO has taken a step towards becoming an integrated mobility service by adding features for booking domestic flights and car rentals.

T-map is also hastening its steps towards integrated mobility services. T-map Mobility launched an enhanced, unified app from its existing T-map navigation system last September. Besides navigation, this app now includes public transport destination routing, airport shuttle bus reservations, car rentals, biker services, and more. In October, accommodation booking capabilities were added, transforming the T-map app into a one-stop travel platform for domestic trips.

Upgraded ‘All-in-one T-map’ app

Kakao Mobility began offering train reservation services for all Korail trains, including KTX, since February 2021, and expanded to include SRT in June. Furthermore, in June 2021, they added domestic flight booking services, and a year later in June, they introduced international flight reservations.

Not stopping there, Kakao Mobility launched shuttle bus routes to Everland from major areas in Seoul last October and added car inspection booking features to the Kakao T app in June this year. Having already established mobility services for airlines and railways, Kakao Mobility significantly enhanced consumer convenience with features like amusement park shuttle buses and car inspection bookings.
