The sales of domestic cars in October reached 117,322 units, marking a 9.9% increase from the previous month’s 106,673 units. Hyundai and GM led the overall sales, while all other brands saw declines.

Hyundai, which was closely pursued by Kia with a margin of just over 1,000 units last month, has managed to widen the gap again. GM, once lingering in the lower ranks, has surpassed KG Mobility to claim the third spot in domestic sales.

Hyundai sold 56,732 units, a 24.9% jump from the previous month’s 45,397 units. The Porter recorded sales of 8,578 units, up 48.4% from 5,781 units last month. The Santa Fe saw sales rise to 8,331 units, a significant 62.1% increase from 5,139 units in the prior month. The Grandeur was recorded at 8,192 units, slightly up by 0.4% compared to the previous month’s 8,159 units.

Genesis saw a decrease in sales to 7,596 units, down 10.8% from last month’s 8,514 units. The GV70 recorded 3,707 units in sales, a 29.4% increase from last month’s 2,864 units. Conversely, the G80 faced a decline, with 1,969 units sold, marking a 30.2% drop from the previous month’s 2,819 units. The GV80 also decreased sales to 885 units, down 41.3% from last month’s 1,507 units.

Kia’s sales totaled 43,270 units, a slight decrease of 2.6% from the previous month’s 44,410 units. While the Sorento maintained its position as the best-selling domestic model for two consecutive months with 8,777 units sold, this represented a 13.9% decline from the previous month’s 10,190 units. The Bongo saw sales rise to 4,887 units, up 9.1% from 4,480 units last month, while the Soul increased to 4,824 units, marking a 39.3% jump from the previous month’s 3,464 units.

GM reported sales of 4,469 units, a significant increase of 69.8% compared to the 2,632 units sold last month. The Trailblazer Crossover recorded sales of 3,043 units, representing a remarkable 113.7% increase from 1,424 units the previous month. However, the Trailblazer saw a small decline, selling 496 units compared to last month’s 558 units. The Colorado saw a significant uptick in sales, with 335 units sold, up 268% from the previous month’s 91 units.

KG Mobility saw sales drop to 3,804 units, a decrease of 6.5% from 4,069 units last month. The Rexton Sports recorded 1,320 units, down 9.5% from 1,458 units last month. The Torres reported sales of 1,628 units, up 2.8% from the previous month’s 1,564 units, while the Tivoli saw a decrease to 577 units, down 22.4% from 744 units last month.

Renault Korea recorded sales of 1,451 units, down 12.1% from last month’s 1,651 units. The QM6 saw sales decline to 787 units, a 6.2% drop from 839 units last month. The XM3 reported 518 units sold, down 23.3% from 675 units previously.

The SM6 fared slightly better, with a total of 146 units sold, up 6.6% from the previous month’s 137 units.
