Kia is enhancing the product quality of certified used cars, including both internal combustion engine vehicles and electric cars.

Kia announced on the 15th (Wednesday) that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hankook Tire regarding the supply of tires for certified used cars at the brand experience center ‘Kia 360’ located in Gangnam, Seoul on the 14th (Tuesday).

During the signing ceremony attended by key officials, including Kia’s Vice President Kwon Hyuk-ho and Park Jong-ho, Head of Hankook Tire’s Korean Operations, the companies established a tire supply cooperation system to provide high-quality certified used cars.

Through this agreement, Kia will equip vehicles that require tire replacement during the certification process with Hankook’s main brand products.

Passenger cars and SUVs will be fitted with Hankook’s all-season balance tire ‘Kinergy ST AS’ and on-road SUV tire ‘Dynapro HL3’, respectively. The representative electric vehicle model ‘EV6’ will feature electric vehicle-specific tires ‘iON evo AS’, while the high-performance sports sedan ‘Stinger’ will be paired with ultra-high-performance tires ‘Ventus 12 evo 2’, ensuring the best tire choice based on the type and performance of the vehicles.

A Kia representative stated, “The purpose of this MOU is to ensure that customers receive vehicles in the best condition in accordance with Kia’s certified used car business direction.” They added, “We aim to improve customer satisfaction by fitting new products supplied by Hankook Tire in cases where tire replacements are necessary during the certification process.”

In the meantime, Kia has launched its certified used car business starting from the 1st of November, presenting three differentiation strategies: ▲ Providing a new customer experience exclusive to vehicle manufacturers ▲ Supplying the best quality used cars ▲ Introducing the first quality rating system for used EVs in Korea (EV Pioneer), underpinning its certified used car initiative titled ‘Movement to Trust.’
