Hyundai Motor Company introduced the newly reimagined small truck ‘2024 Porter II’ with an LPG turbo engine on the 22nd (Wednesday).

The 2024 Porter II features the new LPG turbo engine, enhancing both performance and fuel efficiency, while improving infotainment and convenience options to elevate overall product competitiveness.

Hyundai has equipped the 2024 Porter II with the newly developed Smartstream LPG 2.5 turbo engine instead of the existing 2.5 diesel engine. The Smartstream LPG 2.5 turbo engine utilizes a turbocharger to improve torque at low speeds and offers 24 additional horsepower compared to the diesel engine, delivering impressive power performance with a maximum output of 159 horsepower. (※ Based on 5-speed automatic transmission)

The 2024 Porter II boasts excellent economic advantages, enabling savings of approximately 700,000 won per year on fuel expenses compared to existing diesel models, thanks to the relatively low LPG prices and improved fuel efficiency. Additionally, it reduces fine dust and nitrogen oxide emissions, achieving an eco-friendliness level comparable to hybrid vehicles.

Hyundai has further enhanced the product competitiveness of the 2024 Porter II by including popular infotainment and convenience features as standard across all trims.

Features previously limited to higher trims, such as ▲ standard audio system (4 speakers, radio, MP3, USB, Bluetooth hands-free included) ▲ steering wheel audio remote control ▲ auto light control ▲ triple turn signal, have now been made standard on the entry-level Style trim.

The heated rear glass, which was previously exclusive to the top Premium trim, is now standard on the Modern trim, while the Premium trim includes an 8-inch display audio, rear monitor, and front USB charger for enhanced convenience.

Additionally, a new ‘Navigation Package’ has been added, available on all trims, featuring ▲ 10.25-inch navigation (includes Bluelink) ▲ wireless navigation updates ▲ push-button start & smart key ▲ full-auto air conditioning, and the seatbelt pre-tensioner has been made standard to enhance safety.

The pricing for the 2024 Porter II is as follows: ▲ Style 20,390,000 won ▲ Smart 21,070,000 won ▲ Modern 21,770,000 won ▲ Premium 22,600,000 won. (※ Based on 2WD super cab with a 6-speed manual transmission)

Customers who scrap their existing diesel vehicles to purchase the 2024 Porter II can benefit from the government’s ‘LPG Cargo Truck New Purchase Support Program’, receiving up to 9,000,000 won (※ 1,000,000 won for LPG cargo truck purchase subsidy, 8,000,000 won for early scrapping support for 4th grade diesel vehicles).

A Hyundai official stated, “Due to the amendment of the Air Quality Management Zone Act taking effect next year, it is impossible to register new diesel vehicles for delivery use. We believe the new LPG turbo engine enhances both power performance and economic viability, making the 2024 Porter II the best partner for delivery personnel.”
