The Volvo Car Korea reports that the mid-size premium sedan ‘S60 Dark Edition’ sold out completely within just 9 minutes of its online sales launch.

Following the buzz of the ‘XC40 Sage Green Edition,’ which achieved complete sell-out in just 3 minutes upon its online launch in July, the S60 Dark Edition has impressively sold 55 units within its first 9 minutes, showcasing the brand’s strong presence in the imported car market. Since its launch in 2019, the S60 has consistently had a waiting period for purchase, and this dark edition presents an exceptional opportunity for customers who have been awaiting their chance to own an S60.

Aiming at the mid-size premium segment, the Swedish dynamic sedan S60 has recorded total sales of 1,226 units from January to September this year, more than doubling its sales compared to the same period last year.

With premium features such as the British high-end speaker brand ‘Bowers & Wilkins’ sound system, a crystal gear knob from the official brand of the Swedish Royal Family, Orrefors, and Napa leather, the S60 Dark Edition offers luxurious conveniences alongside advanced connectivity services that set it apart in its class.

The newly updated ‘Integrated TMAP Infotainment Service 2.0’ provides connected driving services based on the ‘Seoul City Next-Generation Intelligent Traffic System (C-ITS),’ allowing real-time access to signal information, remaining signal time, and optimal speeds for crossing intersections. Additionally, it supports ‘Personalized Routine Settings’ to tailor various functions to the user’s lifestyle. The TMAP Store offers a range of third-party apps, providing options for news, audiobooks, and OTT services, enabling a smarter travel experience with access to information and video viewing via the web browser.

The S60 Dark Edition features an Onyx Black Metallic exterior color complemented by a high-gloss black insert front horizontal mesh grille with a new bumper design, 19-inch 5-triple spoke black diamond-cut wheels, and a black leather key case exclusive to this limited edition.

The powertrain consists of the B5 MHEV engine with a maximum output of 250 horsepower and a peak torque of 35.7 kg∙m, alongside a newly introduced sports suspension equipped with a more robust impact absorption device and springs designed to enhance road adherence and control during cornering for a more dynamic driving experience.

Lee Yun-mo, CEO of Volvo Car Korea, expressed gratitude for the warm reception of the S60 Dark Edition, stating, “Thanks to the interest in the limited model’s black details and the best-in-class conveniences and safety features, we will continue to strive to deliver the charm and special value of Volvo cars to our customers in diverse ways.”

The price of the S60 Dark Edition is set at 56,400,000 KRW (including VAT), the same as the existing model, while it boasts cutting-edge safety technologies based on the latest ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) sensor platform, industry-leading free warranty and consumable exchange service for 5 years or 100,000 km, 5 years of LTE data, a 1-year FLO subscription, and 15 years of OTA wireless updates are all provided as standard.
