Volvo Korea has decided to introduce some models of the XC60 from China, following the S90, as a measure to reduce delivery waiting times.

The current waiting period for the XC60 is 1 year and 6 months. This duration has been persistently long, with very few cancellations occurring and sales continuously increasing. As the wait time has become excessively long, the company has opted to release certain models produced in China. The Chinese-made units will only be allocated to customers who specifically request them.

Volvo Korea emphasized, “We are not changing the import of the XC60 from Sweden to China; rather, we are bringing in Chinese models to alleviate the backlog of XC60s. Customers wishing to purchase models made in Sweden will have to wait the existing one-and-a-half years,” they explained.

In local dealerships, there seems to be a lack of concern over the Chinese-made XC60 models. A sales representative from a Volvo dealership stated, “Other brands are also increasing imports of models produced in China, and we ensure strict quality control even if they are produced there. So, XC60 buyers are not overly concerned about this move.”
