New Chief Strategy Officer, Hyun-Park

Motional has announced the appointment of Hyun-Park as its new Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). Park brings over 25 years of experience in corporate strategy, project management, product development, and supply chain management. He will be working from Motional’s headquarters in Boston, USA, overseeing corporate strategy, product, and supply chain segments.

During his time as Executive Director and Vehicle Project Manager at Hyundai Motor and Kia’s R&D Division, Park led departments including engineering, design, procurement, quality, and manufacturing, establishing development strategies, goals, and roadmaps. Moreover, he formulated strategies for improving business processes and fostering innovation and collaboration within Hyundai and Kia.

Cal Iagnemma, CEO of Motional, stated, “We are excited to welcome Hyun-Park as a member of the Motional executive team, who has extensive knowledge in the automotive and mobility sectors, along with expertise in optimizing corporate strategy and accelerating business objectives.” He added, “This CSO appointment will strengthen collaboration between Motional and Hyundai Motor, as well as facilitate knowledge sharing across organizations, helping to realize smarter, safer, and more sustainable means of transportation.”

As CSO, Park will closely work with Motional’s engineering and business departments to support the growth of ride-hailing, delivery services, and commercial partnerships. Additionally, he will lead the business planning and product strategies, including the development of the next generation of autonomous vehicles (AVs).

Hyun-Park, the new Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) of Motional, remarked, “Autonomous vehicles are among the most innovative technologies in the future mobility market.
