Polestar has successfully completed a two-week extreme heat testing of the Polestar 3 in the United Arab Emirates, marking a transition into final development stages.

The Polestar 3 prototype, which debuted successfully at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed, visited the UAE in August alongside the engineering development team to fine-tune driving and climate control systems in the hottest conditions.

This test was one of the extreme climate assessments conducted during the Polestar vehicle development process, taking place in major cities and desert areas near Dubai and Abu Dhabi, where temperatures reached 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit).

Polestar plans to start production of the Polestar 3 in the first quarter of 2024, followed by the release of the electric SUV coupe Polestar 4, rounding out a total lineup of three models.

Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar, stated, “The development and testing program for the Polestar 3 is proceeding smoothly, and production is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2024.” He added, “The Polestar 3 is at the beginning of its journey, and customers in Korea will also be able to visit the Polestar Space in the first quarter of next year to experience the exceptional design and innovative interior of the Polestar 3.”

The Polestar 3 is the brand’s first SUV, encompassing pure design, powerful performance, premium features, and advanced driving assistance systems, showcasing Polestar’s capabilities and technology as a flagship SUV. It comes standard with air suspension, ensuring comfort across various driving environments while delivering the dynamic driving sensations distinctive to Polestar.

Additionally, it boasts a dual-motor powertrain capable of producing up to 517 horsepower (hp/380kW) and 910Nm of torque. The vehicle is equipped with a 111kWh lithium-ion battery, targeting a maximum range of 610 km (WLTP) on a single charge. It also supports advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) based on NVIDIA central computing technology. The Polestar 3 is set to launch in the domestic market in the first quarter of 2024, and orders can be placed online through the Polestar website.
