The new powertrain, an even more dynamic body line, and a sense of luxury that doesn’t compromise pride: this is the Genesis ‘GV80 Coupe.’

Genesis unveiled the GV80 Coupe on the 21st at the Genesis Suji in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do. The GV80 is the first mid-size SUV introduced in the Genesis lineup. After 3 years and 9 months since its launch, the GV80 has evolved into a 1.5 generation model and has given birth to its derivative model, the ‘GV80 Coupe.’

The GV80 Coupe retains the existing luxury of Genesis while applying advanced convenience features and a new powertrain. It boldly presents Genesis’s challenge to the domestic coupe SUV market, which is dominated by German brands.

The iconic dual-line headlights, as well as the massive grid-shaped grille, see no significant changes. Additionally, the bumper’s air intake exudes both a sense of luxury and a striking image. The rear dual-line LED headlights reflect a neat yet robust image similar to that of the front.

Measuring 4,965 × 1,975 × 1,710 mm, the GV80 Coupe is slightly lower and longer than the GV80 (4,940 × 1,975 × 1,715 mm). The dynamic shape of the roofline from the A-pillars to the D-pillars emits an image of a sports car, rather than a regular SUV.

The interior grabs attention with premium leather materials, along with striking red seat belts and red stitching. The second-row features electric seats, allowing seat angle adjustment through a button on the side. With a wheelbase of 2,955 mm, the space in front of your knees is roomy when seated in the second row, leaving just enough room for a fist above your head. The center tunnel is finger-height, and if seated in the middle of the second row, it touches the head to the ceiling.

A 27-inch OLED display seamlessly connects the driver’s instrument panel and the center display, resting gracefully atop the dashboard. Compared to the existing LED panels, it significantly enhances the driver’s visibility thanks to its clearer resolution. The D-cut sports steering wheel, finished with red stitching, encapsulates a dynamic feel.

The GV80 Coupe is equipped with a newly developed powertrain, boasting 415 horsepower and a maximum torque of 56.0 kg.m from its 3.5-liter gasoline twin-turbo electric supercharged engine.

Additionally, the GV80 Coupe features an armrest with UV sterilization and heating functions. The optional 14.6-inch rear seat entertainment system allows passengers to watch video services like YouTube and Netflix.

In terms of safety, the GV80 Coupe is rich in features. It includes two lane-keeping assist systems, two front collision avoidance systems, and a rear blind spot collision avoidance system, among others. Furthermore, it is equipped with ten airbags, including a center airbag, enhancing safety in case of an accident.
