The Lotus Emira has been spotted during on-road testing in South Korea.
The model being tested on domestic roads is the Emira Dark Verdant, featuring a black roof, silver wheels, and yellow brake calipers.
Lotus plans to launch the Emira in two trims: the V6 First Edition and the I4 First Edition. The V6 First Edition model will be equipped with a 400 horsepower 3.5-liter Toyota engine, and will offer both 6-speed manual and automatic transmission options.
The I4 First Edition model boasts a Mercedes AMG M139 engine paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, achieving 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds.
Lotus is preparing to open its first domestic showroom on Gangnam-daero in Seoul, scheduled to open in October. Domestic sales will be managed by Lotus Cars Korea, established by the Kolon Mobility Group.
Lotus is also accepting pre-orders. A representative stated, “I can’t provide specific details, but we are achieving results exceeding expectations,” regarding the interest from domestic consumers in Lotus.
They added, “Once the official showroom and service center open in October, we believe interest among domestic consumers will further increase,” emphasizing, “We aim to successfully establish ourselves in the domestic market and become the top sports car brand that consumers desire.”
