Lamborghini unveiled the BEV pure electric concept car, ‘Lanzador,’ on the 18th (local time) at the Monterey Car Week in California, representing the brand’s fourth model and introducing the future of Lamborghini electric vehicles.

The Lanzador concept car follows the V12 plug-in hybrid model ‘Revuelto,’ focusing on decarbonization and electrification as the core model of Lamborghini’s ‘Direzione Cor Tauri’ strategy. The fully new ‘Ultra Gran Turismo (GT)’ Lanzador concept car, a 2+2 seat four-door vehicle with high ground clearance, inherits Lamborghini’s DNA, providing unprecedented performance and driving experience. Showcasing a unique body style, innovative proportions, and cutting-edge infotainment features, this model combines advanced technology with the brand’s super sporty essence, slated for mass production starting in 2028.

Stephan Winkelmann, president of Automobili Lamborghini, stated, “We have presented the concept car of the brand’s fourth model after more than two and a half years of preparation, marking our introduction into a completely new segment of ultra GT. This concept car, combining innovative and bold new technologies and designs, proves that we are looking to the future without forgetting our DNA. The Lanzador will offer our customers an unparalleled new driving experience based on pioneering technology.”

The Lanzador combines the unique performance of Lamborghini super sports cars with an unprecedented driving sensation and everyday drivability. It provides a distinctive driving experience tailored for early adopter customers pursuing innovative technology. Through its new infotainment features, it embodies a completely new body style, fresh proportions and passenger experience, blending the ultra-high-performance of the Revuelto super sports car with the versatility of the Urus gran turismo.

The Lanzador serves as a preview of the brand’s future technologies. As a pure electric gran turismo model, it showcases an electric drive system equipped with high-output electric motors on each axle, offering over 1 megawatt of peak power for all-weather driving. The active e-torque mounted on the rear axle enhances dynamic cornering, while the advanced high-performance batteries ensure an extended range. The sophisticated control system of the Lanzador includes Lamborghini’s LDVI driving power system, active aerodynamics and air suspension for optimal efficiency and downforce, as well as steerable rear axles integrated into the active chassis.

With a focus on impressive aesthetics and sustainability, the Lanzador concept car features a bold and forward-thinking design that paves the way for a new domain within the brand. Inspired by spacecraft and centered on sustainability, this concept car embodies the new automotive segment of ultra GT. Its exterior features taut lines reminiscent of iconic Lamborghini models, while the interior follows a pilot-like design philosophy and is spacious and multifunctional. The materials used in the interior include 100% Merino wool, regenerated carbon, and synthetic fibers made from recycled plastics, with innovative 3D printing processes contributing to sustainability.

Meanwhile, Automobili Lamborghini has been pursuing an environmentally friendly strategy for sustainability since 2015, achieving carbon neutrality certification across its facilities. Initiated in 2021, Lamborghini’s ‘Direzione Cor Tauri’ roadmap aims to halve carbon emissions by 2025. This strategic shift toward electrification aligns with Lamborghini’s vision for an environmentally responsible future while remaining true to its brand identity.

Under this roadmap, Lamborghini plans to invest over €1.9 billion to hybridize its entire lineup by 2024. The fourth model presented by the Lanzador is expected to be a significant leap toward this electrified future, combining sustainable materials with cutting-edge design. Slated for production by 2028, this fourth model will exemplify Lamborghini’s commitment to tradition, innovation, and a sustainable path forward.
