BMW Korea officially launches the BMW New M2, a high-performance premium compact coupe that symbolizes the BMW M division.

The BMW M2 is a model that continues the legacy of the globally successful 1M Coupe, first launched in 2011. The New M2 returns as a fully revamped second-generation model, featuring a design that maximizes the presence of BMW M and a driving dynamic that has become even more powerful and sophisticated compared to its predecessor, achieving perfect harmony.

The BMW New M2 is equipped with a traditional rear-wheel-drive M TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine. This engine, the same as in the BMW M3 and M4, boasts a remarkable 460 horsepower, an increase of 50 horsepower over the previous generation, and delivers a maximum torque of 56.1 kg·m.

Additionally, the engine’s characteristic of high-revving performance and maximum torque available over a wide range allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds.

The New M2 also features a cooling system that reliably manages the engine in harsh environments like track driving, alongside an oil supply system that leverages BMW M’s motorsport expertise. The 8-speed M Steptronic sports transmission incorporates the latest DriveLogic function, enabling the driver to adjust shift points in three stages. The M sports variable exhaust system creates a variety of sounds based on driving modes, maximizing the pure enjoyment of driving.

The BMW New M2 delivers dynamic driving performance and a new level of handling feel thanks to its compact body size, short wheelbase, nearly perfect weight distribution close to 50:50, and bespoke chassis finely tuned through testing at the Nürburgring North Loop.

Designed with track driving in mind, the front 19-inch and rear 20-inch M alloy wheels are set to provide agile handling and optimal traction. Furthermore, the New M2 is equipped with an adaptive M suspension capable of handling diverse driving conditions, M Servotronic steering offering high driving stability and steering precision, and an M compound brake system that ensures powerful stopping power, allowing for dynamic driving enjoyment in any situation.

In addition to this, M Drive Professional, designed to support dynamic track driving, is standard. This feature includes M Traction Control, which can fine-tune traction control in 10 stages, the M Drift Analyzer to measure and record drift driving, and the M Lap Timer.

The New M2 emphasizes the design characteristics unique to M coupes, showcasing features like a compact size and muscular proportions that create a stronger exterior presence. Body panels emphasize cohesion through exquisite finishes, and side skirts and muscular wheel arches amplify its sporty feel. The frameless BMW kidney grille made up of horizontally arranged bars combines uniquely designed lower air intakes and M-specific bumpers, enhancing the M motorsport essence.

Sleekly designed M carbon roofs, impressive bonnet shapes, and coupe silhouettes extend to a robust rear view. The trunk lid features a lip spoiler, while vertically arranged rear reflectors offer a compact yet powerful impression.

The interior reflects the distinctive motorsport feeling of BMW M. The BMW curved display atop the dashboard features a dedicated multimedia interface for M, allowing for clearer vehicle information even on the track. Interiors throughout the dashboard, door panels, and center console are furnished with pearl chrome accents, while M sports seats with superior support and M seat belts come as standard.

The New M2 is loaded with advanced driver assistance systems for safe and comfortable everyday driving, along with various convenient features. The Driving Assistant, which includes front collision warning, pedestrian warning, and lane departure warning, comes standard along with an Active Cruise Control featuring Stop & Go capability, and the Parking Assistant that includes reverse assistance.

Additionally, the BMW Live Cockpit Professional comes standard, featuring adaptive LED headlights, three-zone air conditioning, a luggage compartment package, a Harman Kardon surround system, and the BMW intelligent personal assistant.

The price of the BMW New M2 is 89,900,000 won. (Including VAT, based on a 5% individual consumption tax)
