Volvo Car Korea has launched a global best-selling SUV, the XC40 ‘Sage Green’ edition, limited to just 25 units, available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 10 AM on the 25th.

The XC40, which completes Volvo’s SUV lineup, is the brand’s first compact SUV that debuted in the global market in 2017. With its ‘Human Centric’ philosophy, it has introduced advanced functions optimized for urban lifestyles, creating space essential for modern individuals, capturing global attention since its introduction. It was chosen as ‘European Car of the Year’ in 2018, marking the first time in the brand’s history, and has maintained the top-selling position in the European luxury compact SUV market for three consecutive years since 2020.

In Korea, the XC40 has established itself as a leading model driving the compact SUV trend since its launch in 2018, recording a total of 1,077 units sold in the first half of this year, making it the number one luxury compact SUV. With the release of this limited edition, customers waiting to purchase the XC40 will be able to receive their vehicles immediately.

The newly unveiled XC40 limited edition is based on the Ultimate trim, emphasizing a unique design with its Sage Green color and rear roof spoiler. The dynamic black roof spoiler, contrasting with the body color, optimizes airflow and increases downforce, enhancing stability during high-speed driving. Additionally, it offers a key case that harmonizes with the body color, adding to the allure of the limited edition model.

The powertrain consists of a gasoline-based mild hybrid (MHEV) with a maximum output of 197 horsepower and peak torque of 30.6 kg·m, combined with an all-wheel drive (AWD) system. It comes equipped with a premium safety package based on advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) that includes radar, cameras, and an array of ultrasonic sensors.

Moreover, it features the domestic top-quality navigation T-map, an AI platform for user voice recognition, integration with music platforms such as NUGU and FLO, the ‘Volvo Cars App’ allowing digital key functionality, and ‘Volvo Assistant’ to resolve issues that arise during driving in real-time, among other digital packages offered as standard.

Furthermore, it includes advanced air purification features equipped with PM 2.5 sensors and particulate filters, a Clean Zone interior, a Swedish Orrefors crystal gear knob, a Harman Kardon premium sound system, and many more convenience features that emphasize sensory quality. Additional offerings comprise 15 years of free OTA updates, an industry-leading 5-year or 100,000 km free warranty with consumables exchange service, 5 years of free LTE, and a 1-year subscription to FLO included as standard.

The representative of Volvo Car Korea, Lee Yun-mo, stated, “We have prepared this limited edition model to present another expression of the Scandinavian sensitivity offered by the Swedish luxury brand,” and added, “We hope that you experience the charm of the limited edition XC40 Sage Green model, which is enjoying great popularity not only in Europe but also in Korea.”

Meanwhile, despite being a limited edition model equipped with packages such as black roof spoilers and sage green key cases, the XC40 Sage Green Edition is priced at an astonishing 53.3 million KRW (including VAT) and will be available for pre-order on the Volvo Cars Digital Shop starting at 10 AM on the 25th. To commemorate this, special exhibitions will also be held at Goyang Starfield from July 18 to 31 and at Hanam Starfield from July 18 to 25.
